The Republic of Ireland looks set to be the first European country to make it illegal for convicted paedophiles to travel overseas. Draft legislation expected to be introduced before the Dáil later this month is being spearheaded by Independent TD, Maureen O'Sullivan.
The campaign is also being supported by Philippines-based Irish priest, Father Shay Cullen who is highlighting the problem of foreign (including Irish) child rapists who travel to Asian countries solely for the purpose of sexually abusing children.
