Republicans aren't the only ones who want the banners removed...

Alan McBride of Wave Trauma Centre lost his wife and father-in-law in the Shankill bombing. He described the placing of the banners around the area as "very disappointing" and he saw it as "scoring points". He said he believed victims were being used.

He told the BBC Stephen Nolan Show: "It is very disappointing that [the Shankill bombing] which was so appalling - nine innocent families bereaved - that their atrocity is being used in this way to score points.

"It's the same thing every year. This is grotesque and just jumping on a bandwagon. It is completely selective. I am sure there is no reference to Greysteel for example which happened the week after the Shankill and was equally appalling. It is whataboutery."

He added: "It reminds me of the Northern Ireland I really don't want any part of. We have to remember these events, but it has to be done respectfully.

"On the Shankill Road there is a peace garden... there's a plaque at the site of Frizzell's if people want to go and pay their respects but not in this grotesque whataboutery kind of way which is very much I think the reason behind these banners."

Who was responsible for that atrocity and why would they attack innocent Prods on the Shankill road.
This is a very crass attempt at whataboutery which is clearly not impressing the relatives of the victims of these atrocities. Its no wonder you posted a thread about it thinking it would make SF look bad. Just like you posted the thread about a cow crossing the Bulgarian border as if it were anything other than a prime example of why we shouldn't have a land border between NI and the Republic.

Your threads make the opposite points that you want them to make.

Indeed Strawbs, it's this time of year again when the onionists, OO plus their many satellite shady groups get together to raise community tensions in the run up to their hatefests, all part of keeping their supporters on board ....of course.

Its just DOG's usual stupidity - try and make SF's anti-sectarianism campaign look hypocritical by...erm... posting an example of loyalist sectarianism.

Yeah Strawbs, DOG is simply a sectarian AH, what concerns me in all of this is the inaction of the Police, that needs to be seriously looked at, especially before the hate bonfires and parades that follow this annual outpouring of sectarianism by onionists and their shady satellite organisations.

Republicans want banners with the #Stand up against sectarianism because they feature IRA terrorist atrocities.

Does Republican hypocrisy know no bounds?

 ....Lennie is every bit as pathetic as wee Seamy Bwyson was on Nolan this morning..... Alan McBride whose wife died in the Shankill Bomb made it very clear that bwyson was using the death of his & others' loved ones just to try and score points in a most pathetic way ... a bit like the trolling OP is doing here....

Wee seamy ended up looking like a twat .. Lennie the dog now does too, but no surprise there

almost every "idiotic" thread these knobjockies start now ends up backfiring on them

Why do you insist on starting threads that end up making an eejit out you?
John McLean, chief executive of Radius Housing, which manages the housing area, said the imagery was not appropriate for a shared housing area.

“These banners should not have been erected and should be removed immediately," he said.

"There was no consultation with the people who live in this area and the imagery used is not appropriate for a shared living scheme which is home to families from all backgrounds. We strongly feel that this is not an appropriate way to display events of the past."

People have deliberately decided to raise their families in a mixed, shared, diverse community.

Fully concur sir and I find it disgusting, in a deeply divided society, the law failed to step in and do what was right for the benefit of all,

Disgusting display of policemen not doing what they are paid for.

This is a sectarian poster campaign designed to intimidate Catholics living in a shared housing estate. Its been condemned by all responsible people on both sides of the community.

Its good that you drew our attention to the continuing cancer of sectarianism among loyalists, and revealed your own in the process.

Do any of those who put up these banners live in the area?

Strawbs,
It's an organised campaign to rid that particular area of Catholics, once again, I ask the question, what are the so called "forces of law and order going to do about it"

The inaction of these useless cops will undoubtedly cause big problems for them further down the line.
