I remember hearing that in the 1950s US people were only allowed earn a maximum of 1 million dollars (that would be 10 million today) as a measure of their patriotism, perhaps something like this should be brought in?
A maximum salary was never introduced in America.

That's the nub
The left versus progressives.

The left represented by Sanders - willing to point out mass migration is a Koch brothers wet dream, willing to say identity politics has gone off the rails and is blind to reality.

And in the other side you're the pelosi wing, the progressives who love big donors, will ride every identity politics item, still cover up for deviant congressmen,, and who absolutely won't say to the Koch brothers why are you so passionate about mass immigration.

As Steve Bannon said the democrats are having their civil war now. The oddity is that because trump is so rough we're all supposed to just say every democrat is a beautiful being when half of them are a shower of rich shytes who did sweet f all for the American working class.

Whatever about trump that still stands.
Ignoring the rapacity of the plutocrats unleashed by Trump, in favour of a whining about Democrats, is a useless exercise.

Democrats are doing just fine, as the election results in Virginia and Alabama show. A lot to be done, but the outline of an electoral coalition that could overturn Republican domination of Congress is visible - minorities, women, educated white males, unions, suburbanites, and moderate Republicans disgusted at Trump's clowning.

The last Presidential election was decided by only 75,000 votes in an electorate of millions.

To stop the plutocrats sweeping the board and doubling down on the military-industrial complex, the Democratic Party is the only game in town. You don't have to actually like them - but they are the only alternative to greed, military expansion, more Wall Street shenanigans, and swinging reductions in Welfare spending.

Whining for President Lardarse to "do something for the working class" has about as much chance as Mussolini or Peron coming back from the dead.

As with everything else the 2000ies or millipedes or whatever the hell the nasty spoilt pups call themselves, it's because of Rising Inequality, the Decline of Democracy, brought on by your bad self serving selves that Trump is and will thrive and prosper. k.
Millennials are getting the worst deal of any generation in American history since the 1930s, mainly because of the rapacity, greed and stupidity of Trump's generation.

And I do not think they will stand for it - Trump's popularity among millennials is below 20%. Ordinarily, a party would worry about its numbers with the next generation of voters, but the GOP reckon they have enough Angry White Guys to get by for the moment.

How the baby boomers — not millennials — screwed America

Huey Pearce did lobby for a limit on gross income above a certain income threshold. His idea was to maintain the capitalist system, but limit what an individual seppo could earn (5 million spondulix). Anything above that was to be re-distributed. That was in the 30s, and Long was assassinated shortly after declaring that he was going to challenge FDR in the presidential campaign.

It's worth pausing for a moment to consider how much of the earth's resources Sam consumes: 25%

That's consumed by 5% of the earth's population.

Trying to figure out the optics of De Blasio having Bernie swear him for the second term. Is De Blasio plotting a Presidential run?
It's hard to tell. I'd say he'd have the ambition for it. Clearly Bernie can't go again other than as a token. Yet, there is no other alternative coming into view.

De Blasio might be one of the few Democrats able to run though he is very much a new York candidate and will need to start profiling himself as more than just that city's candidate.

There are getting a rotten deal and the saddest part if it is they don't have any analysis to figure out why.

They would be perfectly okay with a candidate like Hillary While still primarying for Bernie.

They have been trained to focus on social warrior issues and have, at least the plurality of them, poor skills to define the economic causes of why Trump got elected.

The only hope is the grown up millennials will tell the ones who think sitting around in a crying circle is a strategy to piss off and take their safe spaces with them.

If you want to defeat trumpism you don't get a safe space.

So a generation that came out the Great Depression and straight into a World War with massive lost of life and suffering, pulled themselves up with the deserved GI bill, scrimped and saved, raised a family, should leave their monies so that their non motivated grandchildren can eat avocado sandwiches and buy $1000 iPhones.

The deserved GI would now be called economic nationalism.

Raising a family just marked them out as cis male oppressors.

Their avocado sandwich eating, Starbucks points saving, OMG I am like so outraged that you even think that grand children are actually the ones who are going to smash capitalism.

To be fair not every millennial is a tit.

So people like Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham.
Yes exactly, they are Baby Boomers also Dubya and people of that age group are Baby Boomers, their parents are the ones who lived through WWII and the Depression and are considered "the Greatest Generation" like George H W Bush, Bob Dole, John F Kennedy, Richard M Nixon etc.

You only have to look at how the socialists swallowed greenism to understand that they are not the answer
