...made by Paul McGuinness (of U2 fame), John Banville, Neil Jordan etc.

As we all know, U2 have a mini-colony at Ezes, which is near the coast but with much needed sea breezes. Irish money and brains, full marks all round.

Tho' the lear jet in the first episode had changed its shape between takeoff and landing.:oops::oops:

Riviera episode one: a stylish holiday for the eyes that needs to transport our imaginations, too: review

Trailor looks really, really tacky. but then I've watched and enjoyed Billions so anything's possible.

Just watched Richard E Grant's "Riviera: A History in Pictures" on BBC4 about its old reputation as a artist's paradise. Not a great documentary (don't like the presenter much) but looks a tad more *sniffs haughtily* sophisticated than the Sky series.

Ten years ago and before, amadáns here were being encouraged to release some of the equity in their homes so as to experience a little of this lifestyle.

Could this be the start of another run of the same? There's one born every minute.

Worse, they were convinced that Bulgaria-by-the Black Sea was the Riviera but at "tremendous value with fabulous prospects".

At the same time air travel, home ownership and even literacy were considered "notions" back in the day(s). Only hindsight distinguishes progress from hubris.

Didn't we watch Dallas? But Ms Stiles is not the cutest star out there, and was cast as your-average-yankess-abroad surrounded by these russians, greeks, english, blacks - french even....
