There has been a long wait for this programme. When Brendan O'Connor's Saturday Night Show was scarpped because it was gaining viewers, the word was that Brendan would be back on our screens mid week very quickly. In Montrose very quickly obviously means next year as it's almost 12 months since O'Connor fronted a TV chat show.

Brendan promises a different interviewing style which will not be comfortable for his guests. But will the number of guests willing to go mid week in a show that takes them out of their comfort zone eventually dry up?

A mix of interviews with a soap box which tonight will have elderly waffler George Hook on about something or other. At least the good Ingrid has a chance to put her feet up and laugh.

But what about you? Ray D'arcy may have already made his mind up!

RTE stars have all wished me luck for new show - except Ray D'Arcy - Brendan O'Connor - Independent.ie

O Connor, RTE , usual agenda, usual sh1thawks,

hammering rusty 6 inch nails into my ballbag with a brick would be more entertaining,

RTE just does not get how detached from society it is anymore, their Tax on us ( I just fooking love the way it's called a license) should be earned, they should be doing far more investigative work on the thieves and chancers in our society,

Primetime Investigates should be up and running, oh wait ? wasn't the last big one about the Priest who was innocent ? yep, sums up RTE, liberal geebags living in a bubble,

You should pitch that to TV3.

They solved Fermat's Last Theorem, which leaves the only true mystery of the universe.

How does ole scrotum-face keep getting all these handsomely paid gigs?

Overpaid underworked, and get looooonnng holidays - sounds like if you go to get a presenter job at RTE - you have it for life,on the gravy train lotto....Tubridy is lazy and doesn't even do his research properly he is embarrassing when he is doing interviews on the LATE LATE...He is all over the place...Who's shoes did he shine to get that job - i hear he started out as a teaboy lol...They get revenue from advertising which takes up a lot of time and regularly ruins programmes you are watching, and they get a seperate revenue stream from the plebs like us!!!!No wonder marian finucane gets 600k per year for 4 hours work per week!!!We are a country of plebs...

RTE doesn't have 'stars'.
It has vastly overpaid, mediocre announcers who would struggle to get on any regional channel in the UK.

Ray D'Arcy defends his massive

Revolting.
True.

I'd rather see a dozen young college leavers get a decent wage than useless old idiots like this still raking it in after all these years in the gravy.

Why does RTE rotate the usual lineup of dickwads instead of bringing in genuine new talent?

What you have is Ray, Tubs, Miriam, Brendan, Joe, Marian swapping shows and this is supposed to be an infusion of new blood?

Occasionally they vary the formula and you have Tubs interviewing Brendan or Ray interviewing Joe and so on.

This is a joke. Get rid of these useless hacks.

Saw a repeat of this the other night , someone here mentioned that it is similar to the panel discussion programe that Sky News have have on at the moment , and the format does seem to be a carbon copy of it.

But where the RTE one falls down is predictable in that it seems to lack any balance with all the guests more or less agreeing with each on each topic , seems to be a very liberal bias.

As an example when discussing Donald Trump the other night O'Connor preface by saying I assume here we are all supporting Hilary in the US election , he said it in such a way that you may as well leave now if you are not and his panel obliged by saying we are behind her V Trump although one said she would prefer Bernie , but it was clear that was very little left right balance on political or social issues.

Sky's program has a similar segment on Trump the other week but far more balance and real debate with some panel members saying they would support Trump over Clinton any time , it just makes for better debate when everyone is not agreeing with other on everything.

Did the Beeb ever offer Tubridy any more work after his try-out as a replacement for a popular DJ? O'Connor seems to have been a threat to Tubridy (his show was getting more viewers than the Late Late) and RTE had to give his show to the insufferable little bore, D'Arcy in an attempt to protect the falling Late Late numbers. Could that have been what happened?

No. Or he decided not to take it....

And him just after writing the cut & paste buke about Irish in Britain which was mainly about wellington & Wogan. So not very representative.

D' Ars€y got the gig to cement him joining from Toady FM. Helps consoldate RTÉ's advanced soc.lib operating system (legacy of Owen Harris) & gives the BAI years of work given D'Ars€y's "broadcasting" style & preaching his pet causes.

Some fella at Montrose must have seen a tape of Gondolas & thought let's give a topical show to Brenny Hill. The result is Sh*tehwaks.

Not a bad show, tonight
ehh, Ciara Kelly ? what a fooking limp lefty clown that fits right into the uber Liberal Irish media, 3 ultra liberals (The gimp tranny businessman and O Connor) and an ordinary person ? yep, Irish media in full swing.

funny thing the "offended" liberals are all selling the victim business model, sounds angry, loads of lefty waffle and yet you cannot help feeling they are fooking arseh0les you would not really want to spend any time with, at any time ?

They are really boring , off the shelf D4 liberal bores, how ironic is that given the conservative crap we had to listen to for decades.
