Interesting article here by Patrick Witt on how Irish cultural nationalism influenced Scottish separatist Ruaraidh Erskine.

Connections across the North Channel: Ruaraidh Erskine and Irish Influence in Scottish Discontent, 1906-1920 | The Irish Story

He followed Pearse, quite consciously from simple Gaelic scholarship to contemplating armed uprisings but at the end of his career was most associated with radical labour and socialist activists.

Apparently in 1920 he proposed to Michael Collins a Scottish Easter Rising, but Collins told him 'to think again'.
