Who is Sabine Weyand ? Well she is a 20 year veteran of Brussels , and she is tasked with negotiating Irelands border and future relationship with the UK
Who elected her ...well no one ,ever, shes purely a Brussels insider technocrat answerable to no one ....... in fact i doubt if anyone in Ireland ever heard of her ...yet she probably carries more power or influence over Irelands future than the Dail , the cabinet or the taoiseach

Who will she be accountable to ? Well no one on the island of Ireland , despite the fact its our futures shes negotiating .......

But yep theres no democratic or accountability deficit at the heart of the EU, its a great idea to have an unelected unaccountable bureaucrat not from here negotiating our future
Well done Ireland ...what could possibly go wrong

Our Government is merely a puppet of the EU

We have a Veto so I'm not sure what your point is? Do you believe Leo Varadkar should be the negotiator or would any irish person do?
In theory we have a veto

- but have we ever exercised it?

Fact is Germany and France will decide what the deal is

- we can like it or lump it...

German Power in the Age of the Euro Crisis - SPIEGEL ONLINE
Merkel is sometimes referred to as "Madame Non." When one of the other EU leaders finishes speaking during European summit meetings in Brussels, it is said, people tend to look first at Merkel to gauge her reaction.

Since the turn of the millennium, Germany's trade surplus has almost quadrupled and now stands at €217 billion ($236.4 billion). With France alone, the surplus was €30 billion in 2014. Even if exports to euro-zone member states dropped as a result of the crisis, no other country in the world has a trade surplus as large as Germany's.

yep , an economic rather than a military empire but a subjugating empire none the less

EU tells UK to get

There is also a strand on Ireland, led by the negotiating chiefs’ deputies, Olly Robbins for the UK and Sabine Weyand for the EU.

I am sure she hates the Brits as much as any one of us, and will be delighted to shaft them royally.

England's downfall will be Ireland's joy.

Go on, Sabine, ya good thing!
Wow. That is easily as xenophobic as anything written by any Brexiteer.

I have to admit, I am surprised & disappointed by the venom and hatred of an entire people - almost half of whom never voted for Brexit.

The EU does deals with non-EU or soon to be non-EU entities. Brexit will change the border with the EU, so they are tasked with dealing with it. Apart from the very obvious anti-EU rant what exactly do you want to see happen? The fooking joke as you put it, is the "make it up as we jolly well go along" Brexiteers' positions.

It would be good to see the EU decide what they are going to do with all the surplus food that they once sold to Britain.

it is not the fault of the EU, that part of our country is in the UK.

the UK - or more precisely England & Wales voted to leave the EU
notwithstanding the fact that the part of Ireland that's still part of the UK, voted to remain in the EU,
the fact is that that doesn't matter,
& the border that partitions Ireland will be the border between the EU & the UK.
