The reason that the govt pays 500,000 people €196 a week is because the price fixing of labour in the economy means the Market can't afford to hire. Why does the govt insist on fixed wage agreements and a minm wage of €8.65 an hour but it's ok for the govt to pay €5 an hour to those on the dole?
