What are we to make of Ivor Callely claiming for travelling up from West Cork to Dublin. He has a second home there, and claimed it was now his principal residence (for claim purposes) Amazing how those FFers love homes and Yachts in Cork/Kerry etc. CJH also had a yacht and an island, and some lifeboat had to come and rescue him when he steered on to the rocks, like the country finds itself. And FF portray themselves as the party of the small man. That with a fondness for horses and big houses make them the continuation of the landed gentry. Amazing the Sindo ran this story today, even the rats desert the sinking ship of fools

Sen. Ivor Callely claims to live in Cork

Callely got €80,000 mileage from Cork - National News, Frontpage - Independent.ie

€80,000 in mileage!

CONTROVERSIAL Fianna Fail Senator Ivor Callely has been claiming overnight and travel expenses from a property owned by him in west Cork since he was appointed to the Seanad in 2007.

In the aftermath of his nomination to the Seanad, Senator Callely told the Oireachtas in December 2007 that his "current principal residence" was Kilcrohane, Bantry, Co Cork, which is 370km from Leinster House.

This will come as a surprise to his political rivals in Dublin north central, where sources told the Sunday Independent that Mr Callely "continues to engage in political activities".
Isn't it a great little country all the same.

Looks like Ivor forgot to tell his own website that he had moved his residence to West Cork - or else he's simply a bare-faced liar and con man and thus unfit for Public Office.

That is just unbelievable. You'd have to have a neck like a jockey's b******ks to pull a stunt like that.

It just can't be legitimate, unless of course he can show that the holiday home really was his PPR. It's not enough to just own a house and "say" that's your PPR.

he should be investigated for fraud if that's the case, and it isn't his primary residence

There is no doubt about his neck. The question is will his parliamentary colleagues see anything wrong with it and do anything about it.

Will Ivor Callely be running for the Dáil in West Cork like PJ Sheehan, Christy O'Sullivan or Jim O'Keefe...no - he'll be running in Dublin North Central.
He's just fiddling his expenses in an effort to screw the exchequer out of even more money.

Insurance companies look for things like ESB Bills, etc to prove which is main rersidence. Could be insightful here. And which did he declare as his main residence to pay his 200 euro fee ?

Which address was he filing his Income Tax Return from?

You would not use a holiday home address for such confidential matters.

Now maybe ivor had to do a ronan keating on it. Wasnt he up to some shenanigans on a yacht? Remember he did a hit and run. The third party are looking for serious money. My name is ivor, i wear a white suit, iam your f.f. Senator for dublin north, but i reside in west cork. Have a good laugh, it could only happen in ireland. An acquaintance of mine is threatened with legal action over not having his t.v. License.

Dear God, send him back, we've enough despicable FFers down here with Batt O'Keefe and Noel O'Flynn.
Back it up there buddy....he's a fe*king Dub with aspirations!!

When he was a junior minister he used the state car as the family taxi around the Durrus Penninsula, so I think that went to his head.

Did he claim for the painter as well?
No - he had someone paint his house instead of getting paid for something to avoid paying tax - he's a disgrace - doesn't believe he should pay tax, but happy to dip into the trough of other peoples' tax money...the FF poster boy!!!
