Because of internal issues within the Galway West-South Mayo constituency organisation. He begins by stating the selection convention was "pre-ordained", that "continuous disciplinary problems" ween't dealt with, and that the branch has breached its code of ethics. He said he hoped the leadership would think hard about his resignation, and implement reforms to deal with the "poisonous atmosphere" within the party, as members are trying to do the right thing, but are impeded by completely unsuitable misbehaviour.

Rubbish. Trevor was facing a contested convention and because it looked like he would lose jumped ship. No other reason. Before anyone asks I am in that area and know the facts. A decent guy but his failure to take a seat in 2016 meant he really did not deserve another crack at the whip when their are more talented candidates available. Pity he has to flounce instead of accepting defeat.

That's a loss. Trevor has been at various times in the Labour Party (and, I think, in the Greens) - so there's an easy line of attack for cheap put downs. ("What party are you in this week, Trevor?") But SF supporters would be wise not to do that. His allegations have to be taken seriously.

Actually no, in this case they dont. Purely a case of sour grapes.

Sinn Féin has a problem with indiscipline and bullying.

It's widespread across the country and they need to sort it out.

Stunned. He's been with the party a very long time.

He's prolife?

There's an awful lot of sour grapes around SF these days. A bad vintage, it seems. A glut of careerists, prima donnas and opportunists. Makes you wonder how they become Senators and Councillors....

This one is all about the convention which he knew he wouldnt win as Mairead Farrell will attract a much higher vote and i will be surprised if she doesnt get in.

I agree. I have never witnessed anything inappropriate in the various Dublin areas I've been involved in, though. I'd like to know a few more details of what exactly has gone on. Bullying would not be tolerated in my cumann but I'm starting to ask WTF.

I've been saying to everyone who'll listen for years now: Sinn Féin's problems are not with its past, but with its present.

They need to do something about it ... urgently.

Yes quite , i am sure your inside knowledge of Sinn Fein is like your knowledge of most other things , non existent . Find something else to troll about , something you have a vague idea about .
