Why do both SF and SNP demand referendum/Border Poll right now if as they constantly tell us BREXIT will be an unmitigated disaster?

Surely if they believe that, all they need do is sit tight a couple of years and they are guaranteed to win the vote they want.

Do they secretly believe BREXIT will be a success?

According to the article, Sinn Fein didn't use the word 'demand'. The writer of the piece - Jonny Bell, used the word demand.
Did you read it?

SF demand one nearly every week. But only because they know they can't get one.

Ok....

Just a thought, that if Brexit is potentially an unmitigated disaster, that the leaders of the SNP and SF don't want their electorate to suffer? Because, sitting back and allowing your constituents to suffer, is such a vote getter?

Seems like both a Scottish "Indepedence" referendum and Irish Border Poll would result in more or less a 50/50 split of voters.

To avoid any unnecessary grief, the solution is fairly simple, any "Unionists" in Northern Ireland, relocation swap with "Independence" voters in Scotland. Seems like there would be more people coming over from Scotland than going the other way, so excess Scots "indepedence" voters could be relocated to sparesely populated counties of Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan in the current Republic. Could call it the "Ulster plantation" or similar.

All Brits can live in harmony outside the EU on the island of Britain, never needing to venture any where else from their secluded paradise.

"Independent" Scots can join together on the island of Ireland in the newly formed Gaelic speaking socialist republic of "Albeire" governed by the almalgamated SNPSF party under the EU jackboot.

better still if these "Unionists", be they in Scotland or Ireland, relocate themselves to mother England,
where they can sing 'God save the Queen of England" to their heart's content,
& enjoy the revival of the jolly ol days of the Empire, in post Brexit England.

You'd have to actually be foolish enough to believe that was a reasonable probability to harbour such fears.

Anyway I don't think we have enough dog-biscuits to feed you in this neighbourhood. The NI forum already has a resident DOG and he provides all the barking we need here.

The banks can't do that if farmers are repaying their loans on time as per their contracts.

But I suspect the banks will move quickly to repossess should a farmer fall into arrears. Even then, no court will allow repossession if a famer can manage a reasonable repayment plan over a reasonable timeframe.

.
.

If an Irish Border Poll was anywhere near 50/50 in the North, a Border Poll would be called immediately as required under the GFA.
The figures are nowhere even close to 50/50.

The problem is that farms expanded on the basis of making the most out of EU subsidies and their would be few who can survive if subsidies was removed. The other issue is what value do you now put on land or farming equipment?

"As the future of EU farm subsidies - which accounts for around £260m in Northern Ireland - is in doubt, banks are asking farmers to take a forensic look at their businesses to see if they could survive if the subsidies were removed."
