Sinn Féin MLA Sinéad Ennis has praised the actions of the local party activists.

“A local man erected national flags yesterday on scaffolding at Rostrevor’s Church of Ireland," the South Down MLA said.

“Local party activists quickly removed the flags despite being verbally abused by the man responsible for erecting them.

Apart from trespassing, as its obviously an active building site moi wonders was there a risk assessment done? did anywan ask the main contractors permission? were the relevant insurances produced?

Yet another example of shin flakers thinking they are above the law and health and safety legislation...

Tbh twas probably a PR stunt, kinda convenient that the local party activists, were on hand at the time...

And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

If I was cruel I'd suggest the local party activists were casing the joint for the silverware and the lead on the roof .... But I'm not and it is nice to think that the Mary-Lou/Michelle coalition has put Proddy Churches under guard. I hope they do the same for Orange halls ....

I don't condone the putting up of flags on Church buildings. That problem with flags was one of the things that kickstarted the troubles in the 1960's. But Unionists/Loyalists have burnt Tri colours on the 11th July. Finally Shin Flake is spelt Sinn Féin.

The eternal unionist whinger rides out on his trusty steed to challenge the dastardly shinners and expose their latest plots against the Protestant people of Ulster, eh? When they're putting up tricolours you're not happy. When they're taking them down you're not happy!
Have you never considered getting a job instead of posting this juvenile shyte week after week?
If you had brains and weren't a daft wally, you'd feel embarrassed by your behaviour on this forum.

Poor raetsel. In his emotion charged defence of his SF/IRA heroes he has overlooked what actually happened. Trespassing and breaches of safety legislation.

Is that it? I thought what happened was a childish tribalist flagging stunt followed by a bit of ugly posturing.
Posturing or not, they were correct to take them down from the Church.

Definite posturing would be criticising SF if they had done nothing about this or criticising SF if they did do something about this.

So you did recognise who was being referred to.

Do you think the PSNI should take action when people trespass and do not follow safety legislation when they are putting up flags?

Who cares about any of that?

The best result would have been a Shinner falling and breaking their stupid neck.
