Delaney, Hon. Secetary and the Hon. Treasurer has offered to step down, they and the then FAI president knew about the 100,000 loan.
Were the secretary and treasurer on a salary or did they receive an annual honorarium? To have two people both aged 79 in such important positions in an organisation such as the FAI for so long must surely be a record.

But surely he won’t leave the “football family’ short ?
Of course not, sure won't he be able to walk into one of the many private sector CEO roles he turned down while at the FAI

Oh they get it alright but they are just like a bunch of Royals who think the peasants have no place in their palace.

have Revenue.ie ever done an audit on the Books of the FAI , surely its time one was done now , only real independent group to do one.
Not only the books but the expenses of those holding credit cards. There needs to be a root and branch audit of the books, expenses and credit card use.

Don’t open the credit card door.

Who knows what will come out.

Sports Ireland should insist on a forensic audit of FAI’s accounts since Delaney became CEO, including his expense, prior to reinstatement of funding. FAI don’t want to sack him without proof as he could sue them. He has refused to resign as this could impact his payoff. But if there is proof of misappropriation of funding by him he can be justifiably sacked.

A comment from Journal.ie.

They have to be careful, Del Boy and his lawyer, Eames, are smart cookies just waiting for mistakes.

Bernard O'Byrne was forced out because of issues relating to his credit card, so the same criteria must now apply.

As was Del Boy's old man, Joe, all about tickets, junior also made a mess out of them.

Del Boy's focus now will be on the money, how much can he walk away with 2/3m, none of which the FAI can afford.
That's exactly what's going on here. And normally institutions faced with this situation will settle to avoid being sued, because suing often brings the situation into the public domain and the resultant publicity can be reputation ally damaging.

However the should say to Dell boy - go sue. Their reputation can't be any lower and could possibly be enhanced if Dell Boy takes them to court. It could also force dell boy to answer the questions he refused to answer in Leinster house.

Put FAI into liquidation, start a fresh organisation, he always wanted to run FAI as a private company, let him now die by that sword with his contract wiped out, he would love to get the Govt on the hook to guarantee his contract, just like the lovely Angela.
