For all the talk of Ulster - the majority of people in Ulster, never mind throughout the who country, would have accepted Home Rule. The planters didn't have a majority in Ulster, so they only way they could deny the democratic will of the people was to settle for 6 of 9 county Ulster.
What's all this rubbish about a 9 county Ulster?

We're the glorious six counties under British rule.

When was NI itself partitioned and into what parts? :D As NI didn't exist before Ireland as a whole was partitioned you are talking nonsense.... NI is the same place as it was when Ireland was partitioned. To be re-partitioned NI itself would have had to have been partitioned since then.

No wonder you lads keep losing and no wonder we British have run rings around you over the years .....
You had 32 counties, what happened?

Is that the west belfast expansion to derriaghy and the boundary change plus overflow of west belfast to Crumlin and surrounding?
During the run up to an election ( can`t remember which one - so many ) it was said that the population of West Belfast had fallen. Well Sammy Wilson had a right snigger in front of the camera. He somewhat lost his sense of humour when it transpired they hadn`t fallen off the planet. No they moved in their thousands into Lagan Valley, South Antrim and South Belfast.

Who is laughing now Sammy?

That's been happening on every side of the city. Belfast used to have a much greater population and the density has been greatly reduced with the growth of towns outside becoming part of Belfast's suburbia. Lisburn (south and west Belfast has moved there in droves over the last decade), Newtownabbey (north Belfast has drifted up there) and Dundonald (East Belfast but strangely in Lisburn Council) are basically all part of Belfast.

Yes - Ulster is one of Ireland's historical provinces - it was later divided by the English into baronies and counties - 9 counties to be exact - hence the present occupied 6 counties is not Ulster - it is merely IN Ulster - which is IN Ireland.

Here is some more news for you - man landed on the moon.
