Given that we now have the IMF here to put order on things, should not the Indo group, especially the Sindo be also put into sort of protective custody also. Look at the damage it has done to this country, fuelling the property boom of the great and good, their big houses, helicopters, social life. Praising Bertie the architect of our disaster, and Biffo master of his briefs, having to tolerate the likes of Eoghan Harris, Jody Corcoran, John Drennan, Brendan O Connor,John Paul McCarthy, Willie O Dea, Celia Larkin etc. Even Shane Ross deserves a rap on the knuckles-he appears now on the side of the angels but where was he when all the damage was being done, he even compared Charlie McCreevy to a good Protestant with work ethic, making plenty of money and putting some of it aside for raing day! Gene Kerrigan may be an exception but he was just there for some fig leaf of balance.

All the media had their dirty snouts in the trough - even RTÉ. RTÉ loved making property porn series about Paddy going off buying Eastern Europe - "Paddy does Bulgaria" and "Deep Pocket" had the nation in ecstasy for years.

I agree of course, but nothing was as shameful as the Sunday Indo. What will they say now, I suppose "we are all to blame"

Did not realise that, I assume you are correct. And still they will not blame Bert & FF for all this.

After LLS performance by editor in chief Aengus ( I wont vote) Fanning, certainly the Sindo should put into quarantine. Wonder what Corcoran, Larkin, O Dea, Harris will come with tomorrow - "we can work it out, we always accepted foreign help in times of trouble, Spanish Armada, French under Humbert, German guns at Howth ( doubt that though) . We the Irsh are at out best when backs are to the wall, lets join hands and move forward"

Theres one word i would take issue with in your post Tomas,"Protective".And theres a lot more names in the broad spectrum of the "Irish Media" who also should come in for the discomfort of being named and shamed,so many who have taken full advantage of the "Celtic Tigers Feeding Frenzy",and many of those same people now sit in judgement of the Political Pariahs while on the other hand they denigrate those who have already taken to the streets on various protests,in fact what depresses me more than the fact that we have a very weak alternative to the current crop of cowards is the fact that our mainstream media are as weak as a rabbit struck down with myxomatosis when it comes to exposing the gangsters who pose as the upright lawabiding pillars of our gravely ill Society.

Again good post, to have a bubble you need media buy in, everyone has to be delusional.

I remember Marian Finucane speaking about the Irish buying up the stock in NYC shops before Christmas 2 years ago.

Yes remember those days - going to NY for "Christmas Shopping" . I just cant wait to see on net what Sindo comes up with tomorrow ( I never buy it) After Fanning's performance last night it will be difficult for them. Maybe attack Kenny again, or most likely Pat Rabitte for being an ex marxist having a go at a decent man like Pat Carey, or maybe they will finally dump on Biffo and promote new leader for FF. How about that Jody, though as an Awfully man you may not be the one to wield the knife ?

Jim Cusick will have an article about how Pearse Doherty eats the babies of private sector workers.

I'd say they have given up on that, its a lost cause, and anything they say now will only redound to Doherty's advantage.

They would probably need protection from the masses, and I agree about the cosy consensus in the media that allowed and cheerleaded all this to go on. Some of them are aghast now at what happened, but they share equal blame.
