Silly Stunt From Pro Pally Nutjobs in TUI

H

Henry Thomas

The TUI are the first academic Union in Europe to officially
endorse the call for a boycott of Israel.
The rest have more sense, and better things to be doing with
their time........

The world is reeling...... a motley crew of limp-wristed, left wing
'intellectuals' in a Union that can usually be found whining, sulking
and throwing tantrums at whoever is the current Minister - has managed
to organize a squalid 'boycott'.

The IPSC are creaming themselves.........

The left wing, Hamas loving, Irish University academics will be
relieved.

They normally have their arrsses handed to them in debates with
the Israelis..........

Any more shape-throwing plonkers for another Ship to Gaza???

These impotent, immature, ineffective 'activists' are an
international laughing stock to those who aren't besotted with Arabs -
and, personally, a never ending source of amusement.

It's an interesting phenomenon that these so called 'intelligent'
Lefties take so long to realize that they are just useful idiots.

Sometimes it's even a lifetime performance, when you make a career
out of it - like Twee Higgins and well paid, unelected bigmouths like Paul
Murphy.............
A bit of Jew bashing always goes down a treat in Ireland..........

Doesn't change the position of Israel one iota, however.
Hostile, irrelevant pygmies in Ireland don't have a lot of traction....

Their 'outrage' at 'injustice' always goes supersonic when Israel are involved!!!

Their desire for universal 'freedoms' doesn't extend to free speech, apparently.....

Mother Ireland, you're rearing them still....

Meantime, in an English Court, a group of Zionist bullies and zionists had their "asses handed to them" big time.
Just as I said they would many times on here while waiting for the judgement. I also referred to the loudmouth lawyer Anthony Julius who was the controlling mind on the case - he normally is very quick with his charges of anti-semitism but this week he is "unavailable for comment".

After dismissing each one of them in detail (“without substance … devoid of any merit … palpably groundless … untenable … obviously hopeless”), the document appears to foreclose the possibility of another such “lawfare” attack ever being brought to court again (at least using UK Tribunals).

“Lessons should be learned from this sorry saga. We greatly regret that the case was ever brought. At heart, it represents an impermissible attempt to achieve a political end by litigious means. It would be very unfortunate if an exercise of this sort were ever repeated”
Defeat for man with mission to prove he is victim of lecturers’ antisemitism | Jews for Justice for Palestinians

A failed legal challenge to the anti-Israeli policies of Britain’s lecturers’ union has divided opinion as community activists try to grapple with the repercussions.

An employment tribunal last week dismissed a claim of harassment against the University College Union (UCU) by the director of the Academic Friends of Israel, Ronnie Fraser, who had accused the union of “institutional antisemitism”.

In his judgment, Judge Anthony Snelson, who presided over the three-person tribunal, attacked the claim as “a sorry saga”, which represented “an impermissible attempt to achieve a political end by litigious means”.

One lawyer active in Jewish affairs, Jonathan Goldberg QC, commented: “This enormous but legally flawed lawsuit was an act of epic folly by all concerned which will negatively impact our community for a long time to come. You only bring such showcase litigation if you are certain to win.”

Used to hear lots of sneering rants like this when I was in the Anti Apartheid Movement. But the boycotts and resistance to injustice eventually worked. Meanwhile the IOF keeps on murdering Palestinian kids:

Troops kill 2 Palestinian teens ahead of prisoner funeral - thenews.com.pk

"Palestinian security officials said Amer Nassar, 16, was hit by a bullet to the head, and the body of his 17-year-old cousin Naji Balbisi was discovered near an army checkpoint at first light on Thursday, with wounds to the chest.

Both teenagers were to be buried after midday prayers.

Abu Hamdiyeh's death on Tuesday morning after a battle with throat cancer sparked fury across the occupied territories, with Israel bracing for further unrest when he is buried in Hebron after the midday prayers.

Since news of his death emerged, Hebron has been wracked by ongoing clashes between stonethrowing youths and Israeli troops, and since Tuesday the city has been shut down for a three-day general strike in a show of mourning."

If that what makes Genocidal Tim feel good, then go on.

The funny thing is that the world can be on the verge of collapse, astroids can fall from the sky, humanity can be in danger of losing its last man on earth, but the Leftists have their priorities, even in "difficult" times. The thing they do, even if it's their last day, is to spread hatred against Israel, and call for boycotts.

Tony Greenstein, himself a Jew and antizionist, has written an excellent summary here on the UCU judgement. This will be of interest to all Irish academics. Not least because the sound judgement of the English Court deals elegantly with the Zionist trope of conflating anti-zionism with anti-semitism. (Just as the OP in his ignorant tirade does - while amusingly demonstrating in the process that his own exposure to academia has been very limited).

Tony Greenstein's Blog

"Fraser vs. UCU" was viewed by activists as a test case for all UK unions’ right to advocate boycott of Israeli universities and products, and firms that operate in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. It also has important implications for free speech on Palestine and Israel on university campuses. In the two-week hearing at Kingsway ET last November, Fraser had alleged that he was treated unfairly and with hostility during union debates about academic boycott, and about the decision not to use a contentious ‘working definition of antisemitism’ that conflated antisemitism with criticism of Israel.

Fraser’s case was argued by Anthony Julius, the lawyer who handled Princess Diana’s divorce, and author of a recent book on antisemitism. His numerous witnesses included the disgraced former MP Denis MacShane.

Summing up for Fraser, Mr. Julius argued that the ‘attachment to Israel’ of many Jews in the UK constitutes a ‘protected characteristic’ under the Equality Act 2010. If the Tribunal had agreed with him, open discussion of Israeli policies – whether in the unions or in the media - would have become almost impossible.
The article contains most of the important links relating to the Judgement but, for any Irish academics interested the full Judgement is here-

Brilliant OP, I must say. I reckon you've managed to get nearly every single line from the embassy's powerpoint in there, pity you had those 8 beers beforehand. Have a good lie in this morning, you had better not drive until lunchtime.

The OP raises again the question if Irish and, as a matter of fact, European leftists make themselves relevant by anti-israeli rhetoric and boycotts, and do they surpass extremist rightwingers with anti-semitic tendencies.

My feeling is that the leftists are simply more sophisticated, but as anti-semitic as their rightist counterparts.

As legal as Dublin.
I think we should listen to the distinguished English Law Lord as quoted in the Fraser judgement rather than the semi-literate"little wiener" Yanshuf

Lord Lester also touched on the subject of freedom of expression in these terms (para 2
i):
… the Union and its members are fully entitled to exercise their right to freedom of
expression, discussion and debate by considering the pros and cons of the
proposed boycott, and, if so minded, to pass and publish resolutions criticising the
policies of the Israeli government and its supporters and expressing support for the
rights of Palestinians, withdrawal from the occupied territories and so on; according
to a perspective which singles out Israel for special treatment because of the
sufferings and injustice borne by the Palestinian people.
I have a feeling that Lord Lester may well be referred to in the Irish courts if dubious Zionist money attempts to gag the Irish Unions. Bring it on!

The racism is in Israeli schools - not Irish:

Israeli City Refuses To Enroll African Refugee Children In Its Public Schools - FailedMessiah.com
Eilat has reportedly refused to enroll the children for the past four years, instead sending them to a remote makeshift school in an abandoned youth village outside town. Israel’s state Education Ministry approved this arrangement.

In their petition to the lower court, advocates for the African refugees claimed the children were not really being educated. They were not being taught the Education Ministry's national curriculum.

"The school building does not meet even elementary standards," the advocates’ petition reportedly noted. “Children study in 'multi-age' classrooms” and “they are not permitted to take [state] bagrut matriculation exams."

Eilat’s appeal to the High Court argues that children who are in Israel illegally "do not have a known and acknowledged right to inclusion in the regular education system and to integration in the schools' regular classrooms."

Interestingly, one of the never ending series of Zionist front organisations, the Academic Friends of Israel was also exposed as one man, his wife and a computer! (Para. 55)
