Conor the discriminator - hardly the most reliable source .....

Department for Regional Development discriminated against candidate - BBC News

The Department for Regional Development has lost a religious discrimination case at an industrial tribunal.

It found evidence by Sinn Fein's Conor Murphy "implausible and lacking credibility".

The case was brought by Alan Lennon, a Protestant overlooked for the post of chairman of NI Water.

Deciding Mr Lennon was discriminated against, the tribunal believe Mr Murphy - minister at the time - also broke the code of practice for appointments.
Murphy wisely decided not to appeal ....

Of course it's going to be a disaster. The DUP never thought it would win. They gambled, and by winning, lost.

A mind boggling act of projection.

There is no way on earth that they secretly fear it will end in economic disaster. They are probably though convinced that it will lead to the UK being once more the leading power in the world and a permanent hard border which is equally deluded to those who see it leading to total collapse.

Maybe they're just "hoping" that it damages the RoI so much that it would prevent any possible unification in the short term.... and they dont give a toss what happens to NI as that would be collateral damage and lets face it, none of them are personally gonna suffer are they .. their nests are well feathered at this stage and Im pretty sure they'd hope to continue in the same vein..

"Fermanagh" Do you think they can close the Fermanagh border from smuggling?
They couldn't close the border during the Troubles when they had 20,000 troops manning massive fncking military fortresses on a limited number of "approved" crossings, and blew up bridges and installed dragon's teeth on every "unapproved" minor road and boreen they could find.

A reinstatement of a hard Irish border is a deranged DUP/Brexiteer fantasy, it simply isn't going to happen. Or rather, they'll probably waste a few years and a couple of billion on it before wiser/saner heads in Whitehall realise the futility, quietly pull the plug, and come to an arrangement with Dublin to put the border on the Irish Sea, which is the only remotely practical option.

Assuming Brexit ever actually happens of course...

I see no one has mentioned this......but surely if this Brexit crap becomes a reality, it is without a doubt, a recipe for huge tax dodging and criminality on a large scale, which as history tells us.....will be impossible to monitor.
