Showtime again on Friday with the real drama due over the weekend at the count. Hopefully Ocean FM and IT Sligo guys will do as good a job as last time with the excellent interactive results service.

Can Gino hold the seat his late Dad won spectacularly ?
Jimmy McGarry is going to give it another go and we might even have him on here in one of his alter ego personas as he was last time.
Finbarr Filan of Renua going again and will crash out the same way as last time.
LP had the cop on to change the face of their candidate by installing a fresh one albeit her proposer was Marcella.
FG are blooding Gaffney to get him ready to take over for when Maguire goes for GE.

My predictions:

Sligo/Strandhill
Bree
Maguire
MacManus
O'Grady
MacSharry
O'Boyle or Gaffney for last seat. Maguires transfers could pip it for Gaffney

Sligo/Drumcliff
Casserely
Healy
Kilgannon
Gilroy
last seat between Whyte and Fox

As for the B'mote/Tubber area, last time it was 14 candidates contesting 8 seats. This time it's 13 for 7.
Same faces in there so.

First area fully tallied.
Bree top and Gino might just hold his Dad's seat,

Gilroy pips his neighbour and will be elected. Kilgannon will be lucky to hold on.

Barry Gallagher, new independent could be in the running for a seat if transfers fall his way and he can get ahead of some of the others packed in at the same figures.

Sligo Strandhill complete - Gino retains the seat his late Dad won and it turned out to be a slog between the 2 FG candidates for the last seat with Maguire winning out.

Sligo/Drumcliff completed earlier. It was classic to watch Kilgannon's interview last night on Ocean FM's live web feed. I thought Albert Higgins gesturing the throat cut was classic when he knew Kilgannon was gone live on air. And then slapping Kilgannon on the back. Classic FF stab you in the back philosophy. Healy showed them all how to do do it. A genuine guy working hard for all the people. Mary Lou should come west more often and get her arse up out of those soft seats in Dublin and Belfast.

The 1737 people who gave Joe Queenan their first preference vote on Friday should really think about what they did for a man who appeared on TV and featured in the RTÉ Investigates 'Standards in Public Office' programme in December 2015.
Willie Gormely just pipped at the end, a loss to the council and he would have been a good addition.

He obviously had a good track record in his area to get a vote like that.
Its no difference to Barry McElduff getting elected in Omagh.
Both have done very questionable things in the past few years but the electorate has passed its judgement.
