There's no downturn for the hedge fund managers and bankers that's for sure. The ordinary person won't see a cent of this though.

Cool.

Does that mean there's an end to austerity, or are workers still going to see an erosion in earnings and terms and conditions so the super wealthy can live off their huge Dow Jones?

Hardly, I've been told often enough there's no money. That's why I have to take a paycut.

Downturn for some, bumper returns for others.

If you print 75 billion dollars a month and hand it to financial institutions, it does tend to push up the Dow.

Another example of how divorced international financial affairs are from the real world. Not kicking the whole rotten institution into touch in 2008 was a missed opportunity to start afresh with some other way of running things.

Ho-hum, what the Clinton bull high was 11723, 13 years ago. It's now 15000, but the dollar is 30% weaker against the Euro. So any mug who put his euros into the Dow, 13 years ago, would have lost money and paid handsomely to the experts for the pleasure. Over the same time Gold has gone from 240 dollars an ounce to 1450 dollars, you do the math, as the yanks might say.

No lads, Renny is right,

I for one admit I was wrong, the global economy is flying, like, the Dow has made an all time nominal high,

I admit defeat, I'm gonna throw away my gold, grab my Ron Paul R3volution pint glass, and go and drown my sorrows with Cass and all the others,

Paul Sommerville says its all down to central banks pumping vast sums of money into the financial markets in an attempt to get people to spend money despite the fundamentals of the market on the floor.

RT.ie Radio 1: Morning Ireland Media Player

The printing presses have been going at it like a good thing. Bernanke just found another an extra piece of road to kick the can down. However it will hit a big brick wall soon called Japan.

There's a storm coming.
