How the Fudge do asylum seekers who are mostly here after entering the state illegally eligible for the full protection of the constitution when they are not citizens?

They are not citizens so should have none of the rights of citizens.
It's not only citizens of a state that have the right to work within the state.

Rubbish. Legally and morally.

If your application takes more than a year you should be entitled to look for work. While I appreciate that the lack of vetting is an issue, that's the employers lookout.

Scrap DP altogether, and start deporting asylum seekers back to their countries of origin, the whole system is tax wasting nonsense.
It does my heart good to see the likes of you fuming.
Here's a better idea, if you don't like living in a country who for all its faults, has a liberal and social conscience, maybe you should move somewhere less tolerant of the ******* and the coons and the gays and the libtards.
Russia, Saudi Arabia, Arkansas or some other utopian enclave?

Oh fukk off with your bleeding heart claptrap would you, this whole thing is nothing but a scam, costing the state millions, the state does nothing but bend over backwards for these chancers while it leaves its own citizens on the sidelines, no one is forcing them to stay in these centres they can always just leave, why is it our responsibility to pay for people who shouldn't be in the country in the first place, here's an idea and that applies to all of your mindset why dont you take some of them into your gaff, and pay for their upkeep, practice what you preach or else shut the hell up.

Will you think it through for Jaysis sake. The reason it costs so much is because it takes 8 years - a situation multiple bodies have told the state to fix

hear that whoosh....rising up to a tsunami ? that's the floodgates opening.

Thank you to all irish Courts. First your track record on punishing criminals, and now this ?

New Business Model : come and work in Ireland for a few months, and then you can sign onto the dole for the rest of your life. Brilliant. RiP the Welfare State ( hopefully ).

So is Mosney Refugee centre now going to close its doors and allow all its residents to trot off and be legit ?

Well, little old Ireland was slow to get onto the multicultural bandwagon. France, the UK and Sweden were decades ahead of us. But wow, we really are making strides and catching up and even passing out those broken countries.

But of course there is no relationship between a housing crisis and uncontrolled immigration. Just listen to your friends at RTE who will look puzzled when you ask the question.

You're adressing a fella whose argument against evolution is based on the fact that Australians of European heritage haven't turned the same colour as the aboriginals.

FFS. We're going to get flooded.
Things have to get worse before they get better, Ireland needs lots more illegal immigration to wake people up to what is happening in this country. The simmer needs to be put on boil to make change.

Good opportunity to change the DP system

Have a person make an application, determine Yes or No,

If yes grand they are free to remain

If No 1 appeal only not endless appeals

Fail that appeal then deport

It is the endless appeals that is causing people to stay in DP so long

I vote that Colm O' Gorman be appointed to assess the merit of each asylum claim.

I'm sure there are people far more qualified than Colm O'Gorman for the job

Call for Ahern to intervene in Izevbekhai case

Rights group Amnesty International and the Irish Refugee Council have called on Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern to intervene after Sligo-based Nigerian woman Pamela Izevbekhai lost her challenge to her deportation.
Pamela Izevbekhai claimed her two young daughters, Naomi (7) and Jemima (6), would be at risk of serious harm due to female genital mutilation if returned to Nigeria. She has indicated her intention to appeal her case to the Supreme Court.
“We believe Ms Izevbekhai and her children have been denied a fair hearing and that their human rights have been ignored throughout this entire process,” said Amnesty International Ireland executive director Colm O’Gorman.
“The court’s refusal to undertake a substantial review of the merits of the case, or to take into account the new information presented by Ms Izevbekhai and her lawyers, is deeply regrettable.”
The group said if the family is returned the children may be forcibly subjected “to the human rights atrocity that is female genital mutilation”. It said Nigeria, by its own admission, cannot protect them
“The focus now shifts to Justice Minister Dermot Ahern,” said Mr O’Gorman. “It is still within his power to grant the family leave to remain. We call on him to do so as a matter of absolute urgency.”

That case certainly worked out well for the Irish tax payer

I passed through Athlone last week.
You could just smell the fear, the melting pot of the black and Muslim ghettos ready to explode into anarchy and civil war.
