Interesting election in the country held up as an example of social Democracy at its best. The current centre right government looks like holding on but with complications! The far right party could get 7% and so deny them an overall majority and it will be up to the greens to support them

There has been widespread protests against the far right during the campaign. On Monday they were forced to abandon a rally as a result of a counter-demonstration from left-wing and anti-fascist groups.

The incompetence of the main establishment parties and their inability to addres the economic crisis is the main reason for any advance of the far-right (which with a significant element of irony is call the Democrats). Left and anti-fascist groups will continue to campaign against the far right and mobilise to ensure they will not pose a threat to the Swedish working class.

What impact are left wing parties likely to make in this election?

Prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt's coalition has been boosted by popular tax cuts and healthy public finances that stand out in debt-ridden Europe, and polls suggest a clear victory over the opposition Red-Green bloc.
Hard not to feel a little bit of envy. But we can console ourselves that Fredrik Reinfeldt is probably useless at impressions.

Actually, the biggest threat to the Swedish working class are their soi-disant defenders; the left wing.

Hah, classic petunia

You might explain how importing cheap labor serves the interest of Swedens working class.

But of course the right wing groups love that. The ability to play themselves as the underdog is an important one for them, and enables to them to further identify with people who already feel disenfranchised.

Right now the polls are calling for the ruling coalition, but the far-righters may lead to a hung parliament as everyone has clearly stated they won't do business with them.

The inability of the main establishment parties to prevent violent crime is also an issue. Sweden has the highest incidence of reported rapes in Europe. This year there have been riots in Malmö and Stockholm.

Sweden tops European rape league

In Sweden, 46 incidents of rape are reported per 100,000 residents.

This figure is double as many as in the UK which reports 23 cases, and four times that of the other Nordic countries, Germany and France. The figure is up to 20 times the figure for certain countries in southern and eastern Europe.

The high incidence of rape in Sweden has a strong connection to nightlife and partying, specifically after-club parties in private homes.

Early sexual debuts, high alcohol consumption, "free sexuality" and the "right to say no" quite simply results in more rapes, the study concludes.
is there anything that links the rape rate in sweden with immigration?

The Moderates are expected to eclipse the Social Democrats as the largest party. If the election was held a year ago the Red-Greens would've easily won hands down.

I don't know but whether immigrants are responsible for violent crime out of proportion to their numbers or not, the establishment parties' policies are clearly responsible for low conviction rates of rapists.

Besides which there are various theories that purport to explain why immigrants are disproportionately responsible for violent crime: 'institutional racism', 'social deprivation', add your own.

Immigrants behind 25% of Swedish crime - The Local

Immigrants in Sweden are four times more likely to be investigated for lethal violence and robbery than persons born in Sweden to Swedish parents, the National Council for Crime Prevention said on Wednesday.

...

Immigrants were also three times more likely to be investigated for assault and five times more likely to be investigated for sex crimes.

That doesn't prove that immigrants are more likely to commit crimes in Sweden. If they were four times more likely to be convicted than such a suggestion would be valid. All such statistics proves is that Swedish authorities are more willing to suspect foriegners than any other group.

Your capacity for dishonesty is clearly boundless.
