FF are going to bring FG down with them. I think FG don't see the damage done by C&S and now coalition.
Perhaps there's an element of thinking in FG that it has "house trained" FF as an obedient lapdog. The problem is that the old FF was just biding its time before reappearing. The repositioning of FF as a slightly Right of centre has effectively surrendered the Left of centre and a lot of the middleground to SF. SF's drift to the centre was noted here, but as usual, it was ignored because SF could never compete with FF/FG. There's now a rather insane situation where two major parties that are competing for much the same votes are in government together.

So, that's a no then..
Thank you.
So that's a confirmation that FG have finally come on board and accept that nothing changes and will adapt the FF line of "Look over there" when things go tits up. Thank you.

It makes you wonder what the next few moves will be before they finally cross the line and acknowledge what everyone knows and just merge into one party. Prior to that, it will be interesting to see how they would face the people on the doorsteps and what message they could possibly deliver.

Vote #1 for FF and #2 for FG. Or vice versa.

You don't know what FG are doing behind the scenes, and you've already admitted that they can't bring down the font over this .. so there's very little for them to do, only let FF plough on and make themselves look completely inept at every turn.
Suits FG.

I don't know that they are. I think most people can see the difference between Leo as Taoiseach and Michael as Taoiseach, and see this as a FF issue..

Where's the cribbing? I'm delighted with it... Did you miss the "it makes the last 9 years seen very tame and competent by comparison" bit?

You're delighted that your coalition partners are behaving the way they are and FG are defending them?

Have you ever heard the expression lie down with dogs?

You can put a brave face on this and try to blag to everyone that you're delighted with this, but anyone with an ounce of wit knows that this reflects very badly on FG too.

Can't say I agree with that. Even in my day to day life people have said too me things like "Come back Leo all is forgiven". People know the difference.
As for lie with dogs.... We can all see very clearly who SF lie with.

Take your pick..

“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”

“Let your plans be dark and as impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”

“He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.”

“The opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.”

This is FG you're talking about.. pretty much the dumbest large party in the Western world..

The party that managed to come third in a two horse race.

They have just watched FF get a severe kicking from the electorate, for continually supporting incompetence in Government.. and there are now FG supporters here, who think they are going to benefit in the long run.. by continually supporting incompetence in Government.

Here's the reality of what happened in February.. for all the calls that SF made to be in Government.. the canny political operator will know.. they weren't ready.

They didn't have the numbers.. and if FG had any cop on at all, they'd have abstained from voting for Taoiseach, allowed Mary Lou put a Government together, went into opposition to rebuild, and then been in a position to pull down the government at a time of peak weakness.

Their second option, and what was probably an even better one, was to collapse Government talks, carried on in a caretaker role, and gone back to the country again in October/November, leveraging their increased poll support and went into power as a much bigger stronger force. They would also have caught SF on the hop because for all the great result SF had in February, in very many places SF didn't have natural second candidates to run and try to "mop up" extra seats. After such a poor locals SF had TDs in county's where they didn't even have councillors!!! And in places like Tipp, SF would have been pushed to run two candidates, even when they ran the risk of possibly losing the seat they won back to Seamus Healy for example.

Instead, FG picked door three. Two and a half years of anchoring themselves to a FF party that has shown after 4 weeks why they shouldn't ever be left near power. And they'll keep supporting them.. and supporting them.. and supporting them.. no matter what scandal arises.. because Coveney wants to be Taoiseach in 2023. And he will be. And he'll run all the way to 2025.

By which time, SF will have elected 100-150 extra councillors nationwide, in the 2024 locals.. and be heading into a GE in Feb 2025 with the wind set fair at their backs.

That's FG for you.. even their own knew that when it was raining soup, they'd be out with forks

While you're at it, how about the lotto numbers, this year's all Irelands and next years EPL? SF will be considered a serious option for govt whenever the next election happens and that will mean having to tell people that they can't get everything they want, when they want it and the other guy will pay .
