Home - THE THORNLIE BOYS

When I first came across the Thornlie Boys I presumed that they were a blackly humourous Republican....But now they are the most popular Unionist musical group. Very much an Ulster institution. And so I highly recommend to anyone interested in the affairs of the six counties to study carefully.

Very much an Ulster institution? They're Scottish, and a joke.

Troll topic.

Very unfair of you....They are the most posted Unionist band on Youtube (though I prefer Rab C myself).

I think its important that Scipio for instance examines them.

I find them fascinating.

They are not unionists. They are bigots who have little idea of what they are on about. They are terrible singers and on the rare occasion they play in local clubs in Northern Ireland people avoid them like the plague.

Yeah the singing is an accquired taste....But offers such pleasures if you persist....But that is why I thought they were Republicans taking the p iss.

Don't feed the troll lads - silly Ulrike didn't even realise that these are Scots.
Leave her to spam the place with praise for Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot......
Uh I dont think I praised Pol Pot...Mind you as the Brits bankrolled him and helped him re-arm after Socialist Vietnam over threw him you would be a poor Unionist if you didnt have a kind word to say about him.

The Scottish sticking their noses in again stirring up trouble when they don't have to live with the consequences of it (no war in scotland) .

Just because you come from a unionist background doesn't mean you have to like them. Just because the Wolfe Tones are the most popular republican band doesn't mean all republicans automatically like them...

Obviously ....However that isnt the point.

The point is what their songs can tell us about Unionism.

Have you listened to them? I actually quite enjoy them myself.
