Taoiseach tells EU to prepare for prospect of Northern Ireland reuniting with the Republic

In a significant move, Mr Kenny on Monday called on the European Union to prepare for the prospect of Northern Ireland joining with the Republic.

The Fine Gael leader said it is now a “possibility” in light of the decision by Britain to leave the EU.

Mr Kenny even likened the scenario to West and East Germany once the Berlin Wall was demolished.

Kenny growing some cajones and threatening the Ireland will leave the EU and rejoin the UK :shock2:

Or does he really believe a majority in the North will vote out of the UK? :?

Not that I take Kenny serious for a second but I just have to laugh at the huge hole that the Dumbo Unionist party has blown in its own foot. Pile on the pain -they voted for it.

OP does not reflect what the idiot Kenny actually said.

The only one I've seen talking about a referendum on reunification is Mickey Martin at the summer school shindig.

It was reported in the Guardian. To tumultous silence.

Sure didn't Martin and Kenny dismiss a referendum as a distraction in the aftermath of Brexit. They had the entire establishment media singing the harmony and suddenly it's a good idea because it's not SF suggesting it. What a ************************ing joke of a political/media class in this state. A shower of ball less , spineless idiots.

It is the silly season and they have to have something to say at a summer school meeting. A kite-flying club.

Enda Kenny picks up a phone, calls what he thinks is the European Union, tells the person on the other end to prepare for the North rejoining the South and hangs up. Somewhere there's a guy in a takeaway trying to make sense of that order. Every day is the Silly Season with the village idiot.

It will just be Kenny and Martin listening to advisors telling them that they should appear more republican in order to eat into a Sinn Fein vote.

To Kenny it would mean re-joining Dorset and to Martin it would be a faint hope of being able to bury the Nama of the North ongoing farrago before it hits Dubin and all his party's ghosts start goose-stepping out of the closet arm-in-arm with Michael Noonan.

One of them is bound to try and say something statesmanlike on Turkey by the end of the week.

To a world just breathless for their thoughts on the matter.

The bigger question is, what did the EU say back to him?

Martin and Kenny dismissed the idea of an immediate border poll as did SF a few days later when they realised it was a non runner at the moment. Matt Carthy SF MEP was the only one to start putting figures on the possibility of a 32 county government in the EU. Micheal Martin over the weekend has also seen the possibilities. That is why I think the the likes of Carthy O Broin Tobin need to take leadership in Sinn Fein and get the other political parties north andsouth on board. Get an accurate economic analysis as to how any future government would be funded.
We have Paisley junior advising Unionists to take out Irish passports. There is an opportunity now to solve the Irish issue but it will take ingenuity and generosity. The Tories have nailed their colours to the mast. Scotland should lead the way and Northern Ireland should follow

That's my understanding of it too.
