With the behaviour of our fine minister, John Perry, on Ocean FM this morning, I think it would be worthwhile now that it's post-election to start a thread on the performances of our newly elected TDs and senators.

Many promises were made during the election campaign, perhaps most notably O'Keefe's promise of a Centre of Excellence and FG's of returning cancer services to SGH and retaining the PSO at Sligo airport.

So perhaps it would be interesting to have a thread to analyse the performances of our representatives in the context of their pre-election utterances and the general work (or lack of) that they are doing.

Judging by recent developments, it seems the core promises of our representatives have been shown to have been nothing but lies. We have plenty of representatives now whether they be senators or TDs, let others know what they are up to in this thread or if they are doing a Jimmy Devins.

Exactly. If she wasn't an elected representative she could claim I'm sure that the reason we have no centre of excellence is because she was not elected and unable to lobby effectively. Now she is a senator, let's see does our centre materialise.

Let us not forget we also have McSharry again and of course Senator Imelda Henry.

I have a feeling our dear representatives are going to try their best to keep their head down over the coming period. If you hear word of them or what they are at, stick it up here.

This should be fun once those golden 100 days run out.

Just to point out, Perry's idiotic gombeen ways have made national news in the media.

Some things never change, previously we had two clowns Scanlon and Devins who resigned the party whip(over the Cancer Issue) and unbelieveably continued to support unconditionally the FF/Green government on every issue. They have been replaced in government by Perry and McLoughlin. If people expect something different in the Dail from these two,and Wonderwoman,Cominsky and Henry in the lame duck Senate, then, they are in for a rude awakening.Roll on the 100 day deadline.I can't wait for Perrys press conference,it should be hilarious.

How dare all of those posters here on P.ie today that have slated our babbling and mumbling John Perry TD. Don't ye know that, and let me make this clear because it is very important and I know ye all have an agenda on this issue, he is putting the facts on the table and to be honest I am very clear on this and that he met the clinical director....Now ************************ off until I fill out my expense form.

The bottom line is that Perry,McLoughlin and O'Keefe engaged in auction politics during the election campaign, despite the economy being a basket case. They all ignored the fact that the purse strings are now controlled by Mr Chopra and Rhene of the IMF/EU respectively. We have lost our economic independence and Sovernighty courtesy of FF's disastrous mishandling of the country.Sadly the self same appease the markets and protect the wealthy elite agenda is still been implemented by the FG/Labour coalition.More pre election promises than the return of Cancer Services to SGH were broken(ie Burn the Bondholders,Labours way or Frankfurts way etc).

I've just heard on Ocean FM that Labours WonderWoman has issued a statement that she has NO confirmation of a return come the 100 day deadline. She blames the Blueshirts as they are the majority party in government. It's what they say goes, after all poor Labours job is only to prop them up and help them implement their conservative hairshirt policies, after all.BOOoooHOooooo.

Blueshirt TDs Sean Kyne and Brian Walsh promised the construction of a bypass of Galway City. It was top of both their manifestos. However now they say the country is broke and we can't afford it. Was the country any less broke when they were writing their manifestos?

That scumbag O'Keefe was on Ocean FM today saying that 'now we are in a coalition, things are different and we have to negotiate' etcetc Funny Susan, you weren't saying that during the campaign when you were putting up posters round town saying a vote for Labour was a vote for a centre of excellence. The exigencies of coalition life not cross your mind then?

Absolute scumbags the lot of them. Was delighted to hear conman Perry get such a going over on Ocean FM today, well deserved. This press conference should be interesting.

Congratulations Eirigisligeach on an outstanding post of exceptional quality. It should be compulsory viewing for everybody who lives in the NorthWest Region affected by the removal of the Cancer Services. It tells the absolute truth, and especially exposes the type of frauds and liars we elected to the Dail and Seanad, who made promises to a gullible electorate, knowing full well they couldn't be delivered.

My understanding is this thread is solely for comments on TD's and Senators representing Sligo/NtLeitrim.Fortunately at the moment we are a FF'er free zone as regards the soldiers of destruction in the Dail, however two of the FF'ers managed to get their behinds into the Senate alongside two Blueshirts and a failed Labour blow in parachute GE candidate. Were represented in the Dail by two Jackie Healy Rae type Blueshirts and fortunately a progressive Shinner who articulates the views of ordinary people.:)

All TDs for Sligo North Leitrim and Senators too. 'TD and Senator Watch' isn't as catchy you see.

So if they are elected in this constituency and you see or hear of them, stick it down here.

Alwyn Love who unsuccessfully contested the GE was on Ocean FM this morning commenting on the 100 day cancer deadline and Perrys next Fridays press conference. He called on all government Oireachteas member's for this constituency to attend, seriously does anyone expect Tony the Bridge to put in an appearance,if past form is an indicator he'll be once again hiding in the toilet,Wonder Woman has gone AWOL since she was pitchforked into the Senate, previously you couldn't keep off the airwaves. As for Imelda and Cominsky, the less said the better.

Just to throw the cat among the pigeons, technically Susan O'Keeffe, Marc MacSharry and Imelda Henry don't represent the people of Sligo North-Leitrim.

They were elected to Seanad Éireann on their respective panels (Agriculture or Industrial & Commercial), and were voted for by the TDs, out-going Senators and Councillors. They are not (technically) representing us, but rather the interests of their panel.

All three are FAILED GE candidates who stood in this constituency, and in the case of Imelda and Wonder Woman in particular jumped on the SOS bandwagon to further their political careers.Wonder Woman even got Gilmore to go one further than the Blueshirts during the election campaign and promise the creation of a Center of Excellence in SGH.This development occurred after Joan the Moan speaking on Ocean FM said services in Galway were more than adequate and that their was no money in the kitty for Sligo.Wonder Woman panicked, went crying to party HQ to get her campaign back on track, the bold party big wig Ruari Quinn was sent pronto to Sligo to contradict Joan the Moan. The rest appears to be history.

Just seen John"The Promise"Perry on the RTE News getting a deserved roasting from the SOS campaigners,as he announced the exact same policy on cancer services as the FF government. No sign of Tony"The Bridge"McLoughlin or Wonder Woman,it looks like they abandoned "The Promise"to the wolves. If anyone has any footage, can they post it here. It's hilarious.
