While it is no fun for many, it is probably a good thing as long as at least two competitors are left and the industry does not become monopolistic.

As soon as they consolidate, a whole new thing comes out of nowhere, like electric scooters.

I dunno it's hard to predict. But whatever changes do take root they will be addressing whatever weak points the current capitalist system has. The strengths will be maintained. I think the one thing that will always be maintained is the competitive aspects. It is competition that allows one to rate oneself, to detect ones weaknesses and strengths and finally to improve ones performance in whatever the endeavour is. Without that, performance improvement will always be slower.
That has never been true, there is no reason to think capitalism is any different. Competition has always existed and is more an element of trade ect than capitalism.
