I'm surprised that there hasn't been a thread started on this just yet.

Brian Cowen is delivering the 2007 Budget. You can watch it here.

Okey doke - I've already gathered that the 20% tax limit is up by €2000 and top rate is down a point to 41%.

C'mon, Minister, gimme the mortgage interest relief and I'm happy!! :x

The Government are having a day's free PR.
I noticed some of your guys shaking their heads during the intro to the environmental measures.

Increased credits, bands, lower upper rate, increase in relief of various types, Revenue campaign to allow people to know better what they're entitled to.

Even if you can't listen to it, The Irish Times has the script on as subtitles on their video.

This is rediculous...hes bribing the electorate on the higher income levels by suggesting ONLY if they return FF to office will the band drop to 40%

This is just plain rediclous considering the country has never had it so good, and he is suggesting that he has to be "prudent"

My arse!

Lowering the band to satisfy the PDs

As does the Oireachteas one, I think that it might be the same stream.

It's struggling to stream properly.

By buying carbon credits and very vaguely introducing a plan to link VRT to carbon dioxide emmissions at some unspecified time in the furture?

Jan 1 2008 is the implementaion date. Plus the alteration in the Road Tax we pay to penalise high emmision vehicles.
Also implemented on Jan 1 2008.

Not that vague.
