I used to be the only freak on this site when I started posting in July 2007.

David Cochrane warned me once to lay off on posting conspiracies...
The point though is that we are no longer speaking about a conspiracy. President of the Council on Foreign Relations (from which around 50% of cabinet members have come) for decades and co-founder of the Trilateral Commission, one of the most powerful men in the world, David Rockefeller, revealed his aims openly in his memoirs, along with the decades long collusion of the main media outlets:

" We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries." (David Rockefeller, Baden-Baden, Germany 1991)

I don't think he could have put it more plainly than that. And yet some of you gullible folk still refuse to believe that something very big is being discreetly constructed...

Of the two relevant sources that link gives, one seems to suggest that they exist alright(but gives no information bar how much their budget would be). The other is dubious however, "friends of liberty" is hardly an independent source for purposes of verification.

Why do so many of the quotes you give me appear to be disputed when it comes to checking them out? You give me a place he's supposed to have said it and a time, but when I go to quotation sites it's a disputed quote. Also, what you're supposing he talks about is the definition of a conspiracy. The idea that all these media directors would have been there and the story not be proven by now is hard to swallow.

I do agree that the US has been walking down a path to totalitarianism, but I don't think it's due to a conspiracy. I think it's due to the fact that elected leaders and people in power have a tendency to be more authoritarian than ordinary folks, because by being authoritarian you can get the things you believe in done more easily, as well as being due to corruption on an individual level. All the authoritarian movements in history haven't been due to conspiracies, they're just due to individuals in power acting in their own interest and taking more power. A recent example, Mugabe hardly conspired to make his country authoritarian, he just did it. Nor did Hitler, he was open about authoritarianism.

But why is it happening so quickly and efficiently in America and not elsewhere in the west? Both Mugabe and Hitler aspired to be permanent leaders and thus it made sense for them to aspire to having total control and power, yet in America this process is happening at an institutional level. Bush will be gone in a few weeks yet just recently he has endowed the institution of the presidency with almost total dictatorial powers. It's obviously not for his own benefit. The people who truly possess the real power through control of the nation's finances have long desired to establish a dictatorship in America. This is so they can enforce unpopular political changes, such as the complete dilution of American sovereignty and America's incorporation into a world federation, probably conceived as the North American Union.
Just in case you missed this at the start:

The Financial Times is busy familiarizing people with the concept of global governance:

And now for a world government

By Gideon Rachman

Published: December 8 2008 19:13 | Last updated: December 8 2008 19:13

I have never believed that there is a secret United Nations plot to take over the US. I have never seen black helicopters hovering in the sky above Montana. But, for the first time in my life, I think the formation of some sort of world government is plausible.

A “world government” would involve much more than co-operation between nations. It would be an entity with state-like characteristics, backed by a body of laws. The European Union has already set up a continental government for 27 countries, which could be a model. The EU has a supreme court, a currency, thousands of pages of law, a large civil service and the ability to deploy military force.

So could the European model go global? There are three reasons for thinking that it might.

First, it is increasingly clear that the most difficult issues facing national governments are international in nature: there is global warming, a global financial crisis and a “global war on terror”.

Second, it could be done. The transport and communications revolutions have shrunk the world so that, as Geoffrey Blainey, an eminent Australian historian, has written: “For the first time in human history, world government of some sort is now possible.” Mr Blainey foresees an attempt to form a world government at some point in the next two centuries, which is an unusually long time horizon for the average newspaper column.

But – the third point – a change in the political atmosphere suggests that “global governance” could come much sooner than that. The financial crisis and climate change are pushing national governments towards global solutions, even in countries such as China and the US that are traditionally fierce guardians of national sovereignty.

Barack Obama, America’s president-in-waiting, does not share the Bush administration’s disdain for international agreements and treaties. In his book, The Audacity of Hope, he argued that: “When the world’s sole superpower willingly restrains its power and abides by internationally agreed-upon standards of conduct, it sends a message that these are rules worth following.” The importance that Mr Obama attaches to the UN is shown by the fact that he has appointed Susan Rice, one of his closest aides, as America’s ambassador to the UN, and given her a seat in the cabinet.

A taste of the ideas doing the rounds in Obama circles is offered by a recent report from the Managing Global Insecurity project, whose small US advisory group includes John Podesta, the man heading Mr Obama’s transition team and Strobe Talbott, the president of the Brookings Institution, from which Ms Rice has just emerged.

The MGI report argues for the creation of a UN high commissioner for counter-terrorist activity, a legally binding climate-change agreement negotiated under the auspices of the UN and the creation of a 50,000-strong UN peacekeeping force. Once countries had pledged troops to this reserve army, the UN would have first call upon them.

These are the kind of ideas that get people reaching for their rifles in America’s talk-radio heartland. Aware of the political sensitivity of its ideas, the MGI report opts for soothing language. It emphasises the need for American leadership and uses the term, “responsible sovereignty” – when calling for international co-operation – rather than the more radical-sounding phrase favoured in Europe, “shared sovereignty”. It also talks about “global governance” rather than world government.

But some European thinkers think that they recognise what is going on. Jacques Attali, an adviser to President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, argues that: “Global governance is just a euphemism for global government.” As far as he is concerned, some form of global government cannot come too soon. Mr Attali believes that the “core of the international financial crisis is that we have global financial markets and no global rule of law”.

So, it seems, everything is in place. For the first time since homo sapiens began to doodle on cave walls, there is an argument, an opportunity and a means to make serious steps towards a world government.

But let us not get carried away. While it seems feasible that some sort of world government might emerge over the next century, any push for “global governance” in the here and now will be a painful, slow process.

Yeah even mainstream commentators can no longer ignore the carefully choreographed movements although they fail to understand their true origin and ultimate goal. Mainstream authorities elsewhere, such as in the Vatican, have penetrated much further.

Father Michael Schooyans is a member of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences in Rome and Consultor to the Pontifical Council for the Family; of the Royal Institute of International Relations in Brussels; of the Institute of Political Demography, Paris, and of the Population Research Institute, Washington DC. He is Professor Emeritus of the University of Louvain Belgium and a visiting lecturer in many other universities.

Msgr Schooyans is then eminently qualified to evaluate the UN. Back as far as 2000, he warned that in the UN's eyes, globalisation means "a concentration of power that has the odour of tyranny." He further stated that the UN is aiming to create a "new world order" over which a "supergovernment" will preside. This new government would suppress all intermediate structures and centralise control in its hands. In 2003, Msgr Schooyans published an important book on the UN in which he again expressed his great concern about its nature and direction. He stated that the concentration of power it aims at achieving is "unprecedented in history". He also noted that the UN is almost totally composed of Freemasons from all countries, a fact he states Pope Paul VI was aware of when he addressed the General Assembly at its New York headquarters.

The Msgr elaborated on much more: how the person will be replaced with the individual- defined only by law; how they aim to create a whole series of new and bizarre "rights"; how the UN's ideology is greatly influenced by New Age thinking, such as the neo-pagan cult of Mother Earth / Gaia; but all I am concerned with here is Schooyans' clear detection of, and warning about, the UN's drive for world government.

I do agree that the US has been walking down a path to totalitarianism, but I don't think it's due to a conspiracy.
Well there's something rotten in the Estados Unidos:

"Hyper inflation is just around the corner!
Anyone with a head on their shoulders knows that current consumer price index (CPI) is phony! Real inflation is much higher then government reported numbers.
Whether you believe hyper inflation is coming or not, you better prepare for it.
It happened to the Argentina, Russia, Germany, and recently to Zimbabwe.
It's true; our government is just as irresponsible in their creation of money.

Another key issue that's looming on the horizon is the five dollar floor for mutual funds. By law, mutual funds have to sell out of stocks that are trading under $5 per share. With the recent drop in the Dow, a lot of stocks are getting dangerously close to that mark, and when they get there, all mutual funds holding that stock, will have to sell it, creating a snow ball effect. Plus don't forget we are walking into the worst retail Christmas season, ever forecasted. When the depressing numbers hit Wall Street, get ready to see the DOW take another dive!

Now let's talk about the nasty rumor of market manipulation

and price fixing in the gold and silver markets.
The commodity futures trading commission (CFTC) puts out the "Commitments of Traders" (COT) reports. In where the public can clearly see the net long or short positions held by non-commercial and commercial institutions in all exchange trade commodity markets. Well, without dragging this out.. It's true! Up until the first week of November, two well known bullion banks held %76 of all the short positions in the silver pits and the same two Institutions also held 60% of all the short positions in the gold pits at the New York Mercantile Exchange and the COMEX division.

The question is, "can this go on forever"? The answer is NO!
In fact, the CFTC is now in an active investigation of both the gold and silver pits.

Plus! At or before the expiration of the specified futures contract (gold/silver) all short positions must be satisfied by either the sale of the commodity (gold and silver) or the buying back of the short position. Well, we know they can't sell metals they don't have, therefore the only other option is to buy the short positions back, with a sizable profit I'm sure. Nevertheless, they will be bought back. Which will add a frenzy of buying, ultimately sparking the next Bull Run in that market.
Ladies and gentlemen, the time has never been better to own tangible gold and silver. We all know what gold and silver are capable of when the buying frenzy starts. You don't need to be a doomsdayer to know that the worst is yet to come.

    • The largest load of bank loans re-adjusting the first quarter of 2009 and not stopping until 2012
    • Bank failures
    • Foreclosures
    • Rising unemployment
    • Inflation
    • Crashing U.S. dollar
    • The introduction of the North American Union and the Amero
These are all the reasons why more and more people are gravitating to tangible metals."

He says exactly what I argued would occur in my first post- the introduction of the North American Union and the Amero. The crisis will be used as the excuse and, if necessary, martial law will be implemented to bring it about.

Preparations for the use of martial law to enforce unpopular executive decisions began a long time ago and this no longer a secret. Bush senior, former vice president of the Council on Foreign Relations, was deeply involved in the covert preparations. His son has advanced things very considerably since then as did Clinton before him. For those who insist on continuing to believe in the manufactured surface smokescreen Democrat-Republican rivalry and the relentless Council on Foreign Relations propaganda, no evidence will suffice.

Posse Comitatus was repealed two years ago. Just a few months ago Bush endowed the presidency with almost total dictatorial powers. It is for the benefit of the institution of the presidency not for his own benefit.

Obama appointed senior cabinet members from the Council on Foreign Relations, of which John McCain was a member and Bush senior a former vice-president.

Are you just plain stupid or equally too foolishly self-assured to investigate the evidence?

"Make no mistake about it: the de-facto repeal of the Posse Comitatus Act (PCA) is an ominous assault on American democratic tradition and jurisprudence. The 1878 Act, which reads, "Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both," is the only U.S. criminal statute that outlaws military operations directed against the American people under the cover of 'law enforcement.' As such, it has been the best protection we've had against the power-hungry intentions of an unscrupulous and reckless executive, an executive intent on using force to enforce its will.

Unfortunately, this past week, the president dealt posse comitatus, along with American democracy, a near fatal blow. Consequently, it will take an aroused citizenry to undo the damage wrought by this horrendous act, part and parcel, as we have seen, of a long train of abuses and outrages perpetrated by this authoritarian administration.

Despite the unprecedented and shocking nature of this act, there has been no outcry in the American media, and little reaction from our elected officials in Congress. On September 19th, a lone Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) noted that 2007's Defense Authorization Act contained a "widely opposed provision to allow the President more control over the National Guard [adopting] changes to the Insurrection Act, which will make it easier for this or any future President to use the military to restore domestic order WITHOUT the consent of the nation's governors.""

"We are dangerously close to a situation where ~ if the American people took to the streets in righteous indignation or if there were another 9/11 ~ a mechanism for martial law could be quickly implemented and carried out under REX 84.
The Cheney/Bush administration has a plan which would accommodate the detention of large numbers of American citizens during times of emergency.
The plan is called REX 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984. Through Rex-84 an undisclosed number of concentration camps were set in operation throughout the United States, for internment of dissidents and others potentially harmful to the state.
The Rex 84 Program was originally established on the reasoning that if a "mass exodus" of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA.
Existence of the Rex 84 plan was first revealed during the Iran-Contra Hearings in 1987, and subsequently reported by the Miami Herald on July 5, 1987
" These camps are to be operated by FEMA should martial law need to be implemented in the United States and all it would take is a presidential signature on a proclamation and the attorney general's signature on a warrant to which a list of names is attached."
And there you have it ~ the real purpose of FEMA is to not only protect the government but to be its principal vehicle for martial law.
This is why FEMA could not respond immediately to the Hurricane Katrina disaster ~ humanitarian efforts were no longer part of its job description under the Department of Homeland Security.
It appears Hurricane Katrina also provided FEMA with an excuse to “dry run” its unconstitutional powers in New Orleans, rounding up “refugees” (now called “evacuees”) and “relocating” them in various camps. “Some evacuees are being treated as ‘internees’ by FEMA,” writes former NSA employee Wayne Madsen."

That is uncalled for, if you think what Almanac is saying is incorrect then the mature thing to do would be to refute what he has put across and support your refutation with evidence, instead you have chosen to defame him by insinuated that he has mental health problems. The fact that you stooped to that depth of degradation says more about your mental state than it does about his.

Ok, lets put humour aside because your up tight self seems immune to chidding. Instead lets consider if I indeed think the original post is incorrect? Answer: No. I think its plain nuts.

This rubbish (and that is what it is) was peddled out by right wing gun totting loons during the Kennedy and Clinton terms. Once Bush was in power, the names have changed but the arguments are still the same. Secret state, secret deals, world government etc etc with a smattering of jews. FEMA has replaced the UN as the instrument of secret world domination and a few other pieces have been nudged here and there - but its the same lame clap trap, just a differant hue spewing it.

When Obama is sworn in soon, its going to be great fun watching your silly beliefs being wailed over the air waves by crack pots like Rush Limbaugh, same claims just differant names. That will give people a perspective on your so called logic it deserves. I have heard it all before, and it will be of no comfort to you that the element of the right that usually comes up with this guff (and actually invented most of it) is the most brain dead ignorant section of the Republican party.

So perhaps in future you might care to get a funny bone and take the chidding, you might like it better then the truth.

Why? I sad "people like you", is there something wrong with people like you?

ps: And by the way Almanac, since when does stringing together a bunch of pre-cooked well spun and mostly unrelated pieces by other people qualify as your research? Cop yourself on.

Ok, well if you read through my posts here I doubt you'll be able to refute a single one. And please leave off the anti-semitic charge. This is a well known tactical strategy originally used to silence criticism- no matter how objective- of the Rotschilds.

We'll certainly see whose view is more accurate. If Obama does not behave in more or less the opposite way to what people both here and in America would have expected then I guess I'll have been mistaken.

I predict war, more loss of civil liberties, sky high inflation, further economic collapse, the introduction of the Amero, the creation of the North American Union, and probably martial law to enforce gun confiscation, not because Obama or any of his colleagues care about gun control but because they do not want an armed populace which could move against the government.
