The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (the ones who got married recently) will visit Dublin next month on July 10th and 11th, Kensington Palace has said. Harry and Meghan "are looking forward to learning more about Ireland's history and experiencing its rich culture, as well as meeting the people who are shaping the country's future", a spokesperson added on Twitter.

Hmmm.....July 10-11. Will they be heading up north the following day for The Glorious 12th? And might some Orange feathers might be ruffled if not?

So the Corgi Fiddler brigade are coming to Dublin and they are going to meet the people who are shaping our future. Does that mean those they meet will have a royal warrant to ************************ us over in the future.

The approach to EU-UK internal security cooperation set out by @MichelBarnier in his speech is reasonable and we should focus on making secure reciprocal protocols for data sharing that deliver long term confidence, rather than arguing over extensions of the current system

1) hope they enjoy their stay In our country

2) I really doubt they would be silly enough to go to such an event, it would be bad press if they did

Not a fan of the royals but I hear Harry supports Trump , so he can't be all that bad.

a charm offensive from the British royals ? something is afoot. what is the real reason for all this ?

do not forget the pictures of Varadkar at the Orange Lodge.

- a united ireland ?
- a brexit border agreement finally arriving ?
- England is screwed and the rats looking for another ship ( my favourite theory )
- closer ties after half the financiers in London move to Dublin ?
- the Ulster Crocodile finally makes Unionists into political dinosaurs ?

'The brits' would love to turn their backs on the Orangemen. As would many Southern catholics (including this one). United Ireland ? you must be having a laugh. A new 'Federal Ulster' with a 'special arrangement with London & Dublin, highly likely. So long as we can keep the loonies all happy.

what is the real reason for all the diplomacy ?

Sparkles isnt having a great time in the UK - they dont like her hair, they dont like her clothes, they dont like her manners.

The Royals are probably hoping the Irish will be a bit more tolerant.

Little do they know...

Because Irish people love the Royals is the simple truth.

Interestingly here are the Sussex's coats of arms.

Prince Harry's:

Meghans coat of arms: (The blue background of the shield represents the Pacific Ocean off the California coast, while the two golden rays across the shield are symbolic of the sunshine of the Duchess's home state. The three quills represent communication and the power of words. Beneath the shield on the grass sits a collection of golden poppies, California's state flower, and wintersweet, which grows at Kensington Palace. The songbird with wings elevated as if flying and an open beak represents the power of communication.[114])
