AIB to end lease with Dunne on Merrion Road offices - The Irish Times - Mon, May 17, 2010

Cant really see him getting permission to demolish 4 blocks and replace them by about 6 /7 times the sq footage, the ex front-rower has got a problem which will probably mean he will get it into Nama.

Ahern's favourite developer who loves listening to him making speeches will be looked after, Ulster bank and the Icelanders may have other ideas.

Bet Dermot Desmond is watching Dunner's every move and the FF'ers will get away with no strokes here.

It's infeasible to think that he isn't going to go under - it'll be D4 hotels as run by Ireland Inc.

In other news, it's now reckoned that INBS will stiff us for €5b rather than the €2.7b currently mooted. Which brings the gruesome twosome closer to €30b burnt away for no discernible reason....

Well done, AIB - good move.

INBS at €5 billion - No chance. Maybe another €500 million only :) :) petty cash.

Banks take majority stake in Dunne's Ballsbridge hotels - The Irish Times - Fri, Feb 12, 2010

He put €125 million of his own money into the deal, while a group of financial institutions, led by Ulster Bank and including Icelandic lender Kaupthing, lent him the balance.
Companies Office documents show that the properties have been transferred from MJBCH, part of Mr Dunne’s Mountbrook group, to two new companies, Qulpic and ZRKO.
The documents name Qulpic’s and ZRKO’s shareholders as Ulster Bank, Kaupthing and Co-operative Centrale Raiffeisen Boerleen Bank.

The Anglo Irish Dutch Hotel?

Or is the "Anglo Irish" trade name damaged beyond repair?

Kaupthing are in a lot of trouble, their CEO has been arrested and likely fraud charges to follow, at some stage they will lose patience with Dunner you cant just keep rolling over loans and interest, underlying security has shot its bolt.

Baron of Ballsbridge Sean Dunne and Gayle Killilea to leave home

He's not selling the house though, apparently:

IT'S official. Sean Dunne and his wife Gayle are leaving Ballsbridge. The Sunday Independent has learned from impeccable sources that Mr Dunne and his wife are in the advanced stages of negotiations with the South African embassy to rent out their family home, Ouragh, on Shrewsbury Road, with a view to downsizing to a smaller house in the greater Dublin area which they intend to use as their Irish base. [...]

Asked what Mr Dunne's immediate plans were, the source added: "He really doesn't have a choice but to seek out new opportunities overseas as there are very few in Ireland right now. [...]

The Sunday Independent understands that the man the media dubbed the Baron of Ballsbridge for his stated determination to bring a piece of Knightsbridge to Dublin, was recently in Sao Paulo in Brazil, along with a number of Ireland's other leading developers seeking out development opportunities in the country's thriving residential property market.

Another leafy suburb, another planning problem for Dunne - The Irish Times - Sat, Nov 20, 2010

Dunner turns up in USA in a gated community, must be expecting Ahern as a houseguest, straight away he is in trouble with Planning, riding roughshod over local rules.

The lads at Nama should be looking at where the funds to purchase the property came from, $2m, and where the funds are coming for to renovate.

Perhaps the Nama lads should keep closer tabs on him as it looks like he does not wish to speak with anybody, perhaps he has the swine flu again.

Its newest residents, Dunne, his wife, Gayle Killilea, and their three children, are renting locally until they finish renovating their new home on the estate
The house itself was described by estate agents as a “classic Victorian with turn-of-the-century details” on three floors. Dating from 1896, it had seven bedrooms and five bathrooms over 427sq m (4,600sq feet)
Greenwich town hall became involved again after the house was substantially demolished. Officials ordered workers carrying out the work to stop. A notice to this effect, dated October 20th, was put up.

Tom Schupps of Schupps Landclearing, which carried out the demolition work, confirmed to The Irish Times last week that most of the structure had been levelled
A beautiful 1896 mansion levelled? No substitute for taste I guess. Build it up again with glass and steel, a bit of decking from Woodies and a barbecue kit from Homebase for the noisy, summer piss-ups. Maybe we could make him Ambassador to the United States? We all know how important it is to have someone of good taste and decorum in that position. It could be FF's parting gift to him...

It does seem as if many of these developers are shipping abroad and NAMA has given them the time and space to move assets. Whatever happens and whoever is next in government I would these people to be followed for every cent they can pay. By CAB if needs be.

Frank Daly of Nama, ex Rev Comm, says they will chase and have the means to reverse any asset transfers, but then again wasn't he the guy who let Charlie off the hook and adjusted the Dunnes tax liabilities from 20m to nil.

NAMA is now going after Dunne + his wife for hidden assets and 180million they owe to the Irish people.
Why has it taken so long?
