Exactly - which is brainwashing in case you dont realise
Any idiot parent can easily force-feed a child into a political orienation if they want
But a truly responsable parent will allow a child to grow and learn and to make their own political choices as they reach maturity
Typical of FF to brainwash their own young children into a dead-end no-hope future
I really pity that unfortunate 15 year old child
I've corrected that for you

And the Nazi's defence was that they were only following orders!

We need total reform now!

Going off topic here, but if you are stopped and search say under the misuse of drugs act and they don't find anything on you, you still have to give them your personal details. Your details are then put into the PULSE system.

I find this deeply immoral and a perversion of justice, what they are saying is your are innocent but just in case we're keeping you details.
The point I am trying to make is that the Gardai follow the law as laid out by our esteemed, totally uncorrupt governments. Do you honestly think that Gardai do not think that the FFers are the biggest shower of ffers going? Of course they do, but they are not allowed to show any political biais, in private or personal lives. It's their job to keep the peace. Sure, they have their rotten apples but as I said before, so does every organisation. I am a Socialist, through and through, been arrested again and again by cops, both Irish and British whilst on demonstrations. But I am glad they are there. They protect me from thieves and robbers and drunks and rapists and murderers and just knowing they are there is comforting for me. So lay off slagging them off. Pick on someone who can answer back on this forum because they cannot.

Where in my post did I actually slag off your run of the mill copper? I know quite well where the real problems lie.

You need to brush up on your comprehension skills.

Incidentally, If I'm going about my lawful business, in a peaceful manner, do you think it's right for a copper to apprehend me, search my person and then demand my private details from me when I've broken no laws?

And, I agree. Gardai are as individual as anybody else in society. There are some who are the salt of the earth and there are others who behave like unruly mobs when they think they can get away with it. I've met both kinds. The problem is that when they're working they are encouraged not to think as individuals and to carry out orders on behalf of the government and that's where a problem can arise!

There was one particular gentleman, (he had the head of a gaurd) in plainclothes filming peaceful protestors at LH after the union march.

He refused to answer questions as to who he was and what right he had in filming private citizens, i have a pic of him on my fone.
Branch men are always at it, they often refuse to identify themselves.

YouTube - hugs and kisses

On political reform and garda... serious work needs to be carried out on the screening method used to decide who can become garda and not.... it seems (and i have many friends that became garda) that garda are chosen based on personality traits... stubborness (defo required in order to not become personal in situations) but also the candidates ease of following orders and no questions asked... garda need to be made up of people with common sense and morals otherwise they will always be the pawn for those at the very top.. ultimatley this build resentment thats present here on p.ie but also on the streets where anyone now wearing a uniform is more or less above the law themselves. everybody needs to be accountable no matter how high up the ladder thats were i would start political reform..

A brilliant piece of footage, the look of disbelief on the 'guards' face is priceless.
The kid with the camera was the idiot. A Guard has the power to move anyone on, and that Guard was lenient.

There is nothing to stop Gardaí watching
protest events or taking photographs or video
footage. However, if they do, they must not
breach your right to privacy and must comply
with data protection rules. These are rules
controlling how your personal information,
including photographs or video, is kept, who
has access to it and how it is destroyed. If the
Gardaí want to use the photographs or video
as evidence to prosecute you for an offence,
they must get permission from a judge or
senior Garda beforehand.

I thought the kid with the camera was quite brave actually.

I was "moved on" once, when standing on the main street of a Dublin suburb, chatting on my mobile. Two gards sauntered over and told me I was causing an obstruction (in fact, I had stood way in against the wall to avoid being in the way). I told them that they were being silly. They took my name and address. Then one of them told me that I was standing outside Michael McDonut's house and that he would be "on to the station" if they didn't move me on.

I complied with their request to move, actually feeling a little bit sorry for them.

Two or four with back up waiting at the nearset station would have sufficed. The message is quiet clear discourage people from exercising their democratic right to hold a protest and i'd assume those who held the protest would have had to notify the Gaurds of theri intention.

But hey if those demonstrating are lefties then intimidation is the order of the day.
The message is quiet clear, its to discourage those from breaking the law; if SWP had planned a peaceful protest what's their problem with the Gardai being there?

SWP members have always engaged in peaceful protest havent they?

Do you think an ordinary Guard wakes up in the morning and decides what to police that day ??

You need to be looking at the FF appointed Gardai brass that send ordinary guards out to this.

Secondly, the Guards know full well that for every genuine protester there are always one or two infiltrators with other things on their mind, such as dissident republicans etc.

And so they should take the name of that sad 15 year old child being exploited in such a way.
They should then follow up by finding out who put her in this situation and prosecute accordingly.
Were the leaflets in support of Liam Adams fighting extradiction ?

I agree with everything you said there with the exception of your dissident republicans piece.

what all protesters have a second agenda such as republicanism? What you say to the 50000-100000 last week? would alot of them be in the ra?

Can people not accept that the majority of normal people in this country want change brought by the people and not accuse them of some underlying ideology

Across the road from this was another unmarked police car with the occupant taking photographs and video footage of the participants in the picket and around the corner was parked a garda transit van with a further three gardai.
welcome to the Irish police state courtesy of fascist freeloader Dermot Aherne.
