MODS - PLEASE ARCHIVE THIS OLD THREAD. THE SECOND THREAD IS BETTER.

Statistics do not lie. At least much of the time they tell the truth. Even when it is an uncomfortable or unpopular truth. Politicians, media men, even estate agents may lie. But statistics help us to clutch at a truth more empirical than anything in any holy book - grounded in observations and difficult to deny.

Ireland has the fastest growing population in Europe ( and also including the US ).

You will have observed this already yourself in every community, every town, and every village. Following one of the greatest building booms in the history of the State, we now have a housing shortage crisis. We already have ghettos where a kid with 4 irish grandparents is as rare as a hen's tooth. Lucky to have 1 irish grandparent in many cases. We are watching the final death throws of attempts to keep Gaeilge alive. Schools are struggling to assimilate large numbers of children whose mother tongue is not English. How can such parents ever help a child to learn Irish ? Even basic English is often a struggle.

There is another thread on here about 'the invasion of Europe'. This thread is different, its relevant to the former but really about Ireland itself. Much of our newcomers have arrived from the UK or Eastern Europe. Many are disaffected single young men displaced from their homeland for whatever reason. Visit any Irish maternity hospital - you will see many couples with an Irish woman whose partner is from elsewhere. You will see far fewer couples that involve an Irish man and a woman born in another country.

Compared to the countries our migrants arrive from, Ireland has high wages, a good welfare system, and a good lifestyle. Of course this acts as a magnet. Leinster and places like Longford and Tralee have been disproportionately affected. Some parts of the West are being depopulated.

Many parts of England, France, Sweden, Netherlands are already invaded and gone. Birmingham, Luton, Leicester, Bradford, Outer London, etc etc. All invaded and the old world gone from memory.

Geographical Hotspots for Ireland : Tralee, Longford, West Dublin, North inner dublin, North East county dublin, Ballaghadereen, Dundalk, Ballyhaunis, clonskeagh,

Activity hotspots for invasion : Prisons, Dole queues, Software Giants, Financial Services, Maternity Hospitals, the construction sector, Fast Food preparation, Retail, Taxi driving, Rented accommodation, & Hospitality industries.

Where the public outcry ? RTE ? Our newspapers ? Even our politicians ? The relative silence is deafening.

In terms of numbers and trends, Islam will be replacing protestantism in importance fairly soon.

Brexit, Trump, Marine Le Pen....the tides are shifting in other countries. Will Ireland begin to see a sea change or will we stay at home and watch telly ?

Before the Potato Famine, Ireland had a population density to rival that of England. There followed more than a hundred years of emigration and an emptying out of the country. Are we now reaping the whirlwind of the death of our culture and community at home ?

Vulture Funds ( often German ) are owning us. Like a conquered peoples whose assets get appropriated.

The trend for owner-occupier housing among irish nationals is down. Like a nation dispossessed of their own lands.

Housing crisis ? Oh that's a separate problem , we are told by our mainstream media.

The number of irish single-mums having kids with immigrants ( compared to irish fathered kids) can only be dramatically up on 30 years ago. The kind of thing that happens to a country after it has been defeated on the battlefield. An invasion indeed.

Many Englishmen have come to Ireland in a white-flight to get away from the multicultural dump that is now England. Compared to other aspects of this invasion, this one is relatively invisible.

Ghettos where the old Irish (and English language) culture is virtually absent. The Plantation of Ulster was a hostile takeover, and is another plantation now back on our shores ?

Oliver Cromwell didn't quite succeed in eradicating the irish from the planet. Would he have a chuckle if he could see us now ?

This is an emotive topic. Please keep the discussion polite and respectful and try to stick to the facts.

Great thread title-might help establish the truth about inward migration because let's face it, we're so not going to get it from mainstream media or government sources

There are people living on the streets, there are homeless families, the health service is in total disarray, gardai undermanned, teachers in conflict, large classes, colossal social welfare spend and we absolutely need more immigration.

I have a passport for a reason. If I want to travel outside Ireland I need it to enter a foreign jurisdiction - unlike the "refugees". I never cheerled the authors of this world discord and mayhem.

Population and Migration Estimates April 2015 - CSO - Central Statistics Office

According to this there are more people emigrating than immigrating.

"Non Irish-nationals from outside the EU continued to display strong migration flows, accounting for 30,400 (43.9%) of total immigrants and 17,700 (21.9%) of total emigrants. This resulted in estimated net inward migration among non-Irish nationals from outside the EU of 12,700. "

So in the year to April 2015, 30,400 arrived from non-EU countries, but about 17,000 non-EU nationals left, leaving net inward migration from non EU countries of 12,700.

I assume these immigrants are here legally - either on work visas or student visas.

I'm not sure what we are supposed to be panicking about.
