It's the EU who want a border.

They are punishing us for Brexit because they are bullies. Just like they were with the banks.

Anything to save their "project". Little Ireland doesnt count.
That's just not true though, is it?

It is the UK's decision to leave both the EU and the CU. WTO rules are the ones that dictate that countries have an obligation to have border controls where they are not in a customs agreement with another country.

And of course that is perfectly legitimate. If you have two countries applying different safety standards for the manufacture of goods, say, of course you need some means to ensure that goods with a lower safety standard can't simply flood the market of the country with higher standards.

The decision to leave the EU was rubber stamped by the British people for sure. To leave the CU and SM was a Tory political decision after the fact. That can be reversed.

Why are the Irish so cocky about Brexit?

A bad Brexit is bad for Ireland, a Good Brexit is good for Ireland.

If you want doom and gloom for the UK following Brexit you are also wanting doom and gloom upon Ireland, if the UK thrives we will thrive as well.

And just to be clear the UK have far more trade with the EU than ireland does with the UK so that statement applies even more so.

Leaving the EU is leaving the Customs Union and Single Market. That was and is quite clear to Brexiteers.
Clear to Brexiteers yes. Not to remainers or British people in general. To leave the CU and SM has no public mandate.

A lot of those who voted for Brexit didn't vote for that did they? The Tories are making a pig's ear of it.

The British Economy is large enough to be self-sufficient, as it is it can trade with any country in the world as it so chooses.

Ireland does not have this option and we are reliant on Brexit being good for ourselves.

No absolutely not. In fact some of the leading Brexiteers promised that they would remain in the CU. The Brits want to leave the CU and SM to pursue third country trade agreements and also avoid a hard border, allegedly. Both of those positions are contradictory. Somethings Gotta give. And let's hope that a hard border doesn't win out because the GFA will be torn up and we're back to 1969 again.

deport them all back to africa mugabe is gone now its safe to return
It is not safe for white people.
But thats off topic

I don't want to sound snarky but can we stick to the OP, please? This isn't another thread about will-we-won't-we-have-a-hard-border? It's specifically about the ignorance of Brexiteers on this particular issue.
As the border arrangements have yet to be worked out then everybody is ignorant about them.

The remainers lost, so what if it wasn't clear to them, they still lost.

Vrexiteers knew full well what they were voting for, and this is being implemented.
Considering most of them didn't know about the Irish border I doubt many knew full well at all.
Most of it was let's get rid of polish plumbers and stop Isis. Also straight bananas

British business wants to continue to trade with the EU. They'll want to do deals. We will get our way on the border issue.

A bit of factor 50 and you'd be grand fieldy. Either that or a lovely wide brimmed hat
For some reason you want to always downplay racial hatred by some black people toward all white people.
Clearly you believe such hatred is justified.

Anyway that subject is off topic.

The British Taoiseach is a bumbling disaster as is her merry band of Brexiteer idiots. They will cave. Hold strong Ireland.
