The Iron Lady - A Magnet for Sexual Deviants?

Labour MP Tom Watson, known for his dogged-pursuit of phone-hacking at News International, raised the intriguing matter of a possible paedophile connection to a former occupant of 10 Downing Street at Prime Minsters Questions in the House of Commons today.

Among the documentation discovered in a pervert's porn-stash during the 1990s were a number of letters from fellow deviants. One of these letters purportedly referred to an advisor at Number 10, still living, who was said to be involved in the importation of child-pornography. Watson's informants, former professional colleagues of the convicted nonce Peter Righton, a university lecturer and national advisor on child-care issues, claim that police never fully investigated the affair and that Righton's criminal confederates evaded justice as a result. Watson has asked the PM to encourage the Met to reopen the investigation.

As discussed in the newspaper article below many commentators present in the House today thought Watson was referring either to the late Sir Peter Morrison MP, private-secretary to Margaret Thatcher, or even to former prime-minister Sir Edward Heath, about whom unsubstantiated rumours continue to abound.

On his blog Tom Watson MP refuted the suggestion he was referring to Morrison, who was twice caught in public-conveniences with underage boys but managed to escape on both occasions with no more than a police caution (the matter was successfully hushed up using libel laws). But no! Apparently the mystery man Watson referred to was instead a 'senior aide' of Maggie Thatcher at No. 10- the same Maggie who spent 11 Christmasses at Chequers with the now notorious Jimmy Savile, whose knighthood duly arrived in 1990.

Was there a paedophile ring in No 10? MP Tom Watson demands probe - Crime - UK - The Independent

The Iron Lady was the most formidable British politician of her era, a divisive figure who inspired either hatred or devotion. She was a driven, domineering woman who terrorised the Tory 'wets' and scared the life out of the most the ex-public-schoolboys in her cabinet. Among the coterie who surrounded her, it now appears were a number of paedophiles.

Maggie's Downing Street years were strange days indeed!

What were you trying to say there? Is there a bit missing from the end of the sentence?

This would indeed be an accentuation of some of the weirdness Maggie brought out in people.

Hitch --

Mark the sequel: Not long afterwards, I was at a reception in the Rosebery Room of the House of Lords. She (Maggie) came. (I'll try and keep this brief.) A mutual Tory friend offered to introduce us. I agreed with some alacrity. The subject of the moment was Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. I held one view on this. She held another. The introduction was effected. Did I imagine it, or did she recognize the name of the scribe who had hymned her feminine allure? At once we were embroiled in an argument on the subject of racism and decolonization. I was (I only mention it) correct on my facts as well as my principles. She was lousy on both. But what a bonny fighter! She wouldn't give an inch. I found myself conceding her a trivial point, and bowing as I did so. She smiled.

"Bow lower," she said.

Suddenly robbed of volition, I complied.

"No -- much lower."

By now near to drowning in complicity and subjection, I obeyed. She withdrew from behind her back a rolled-up copy of the Parliamentary orders of the day, and she gave me a sound smack before I could --how does one put this? -- straighten up. I regained the perpendicular in some blushful confusion and difficulty, to see her swing away and look over her shoulder, the words "naughty boy" floating over me in my near trance-like state, as the journo witnesses closed in to say, "What was that all about?" I told them they would never understand, and -- what do you know -- they never did.

It's fascinating how the demented anti-republican howling loony brigade rush out to play whenever their beloved Britain is criticised.

Look folks, rich and powerful sociopaths all over the world are into kiddy-fiddling. There's too many cases all over the world now to argue otherwise. Everybody knows I'm one of the most aggressively militant atheists on p.ie but even I have said many times that the RCC in Ireland was full of kiddy-fiddlers because of its position of unquestioned unaccountable power in Irish society, and jobs like that are a magnet for sickos of all sorts. Power attracts nutters. Absolute power attracts perverted nutters.

And the rumours about Heath, for example, go back to the 1970s and the Kincora case.

This happens, in every country. Rich sick nutters are raping kids all over the planet. And rather than deal with the issue, the demented Cruiserologists are so far gone in their upside-down faux-outrage and kneejerk crypto-unionism that instead of discussing the possibility (probability?) of Belgian-style peado-rings at the top of UK society, they run off yapping on (and on, and on) about Shinners

Even if there were pedophiles among Thatcher's aides, it hardly makes the lady a 'magnet' for deviants (though she had a powerful sexual presence). I do believe pedophiles work their way into positions of trust with their sick end goal in mind for many, many years. This can be in a church, sports, or maybe even government setting. To me, the Sandusky case at Penn State and the case of Jimmy Saville are remarkably similar. In both cases, men won the hearts and minds of ordinary people due to their tireless charity work with poor, vulnerable children and so on. Its incredibly disturbing to think that this was never done with the well-being of the poor or sick children in mind, but rather an elaborate way to get close to them sexually.

All true but Picador wasn't discussing the issue dispassionately. He said Mrs. T was a magnet for deviants. The typical Republobore knee jerk anti-Britishness.

Good God man, how did that thing have any sexual presence? The only way I could go near that thing would be with a hurley!

You must be erm, bonkers.

I've only seen Mrs Thatcher once in the flesh, knocking back gin in the Goring Hotel. Unfortunately, this was far from her prime. But I understand the effect she had on other men back in the day, like David Lean, Kingsley Amis and Alec Guinness. Christopher Hitchens recounted this too.

She was certainly liked by the boys in her early years: she looked a lot better than other young ladies of her time and place (victims of a decade of rationing perhaps). I think she always had that English Rose appeal. But looking at her even when she was more mature and in power, her sexual presence just seems overwhelming.
