The New Penalty Shootout Format

Starting with The Community Shield last weekend won by The Arsenal in a shootout v Chelsea, a new penalty shootout format will be trialled in all relevant EFL games this year. This is because the team taking the first peno is reckoned to have an unfair advantage as they win 60% of them.
The old format was each team taking the alternate penalty kick, ABAB. The new one is known as ABBA, in this one the second team takes the third kick and so on in format ABBA ABBA.
I have always felt no final should ever be concluded by a shootout any way!
I betcha England will still lose most of them if this becomes widespread and Germany will still win most of them!

I would prefer this ABBA -

Um. There won't be any shootouts in the EPL. Is it for the cups?

And is it ABBABABABA or ABBAABBAAB?

Sorry it's EFL and it seems after the first peno, it's 2 in a row each time, I presume, it's still 5 for each before sudden death?

'The EFL's trial of the format will apply to this season's Carabao Cup, Checkatrade Trophy and the play-offs.'

Getting sick of the constant change.

It ain't broke, so don't need fixing.
