Of Dear it looks like the long held Dogma that Man originated in Africa could be about to be Debunked

Archeologists in Germany have uncovered a fossil that could literally re-write History as to where exactly Man began.

Archaeologists in Germany have discovered a 9.7 million-year-old set of fossilised teeth they say could trigger the "rewriting" of human history.
The dental remains were found by scientists sifting through gravel and sand in a former bed of the Rhine river near the town of Eppelsheim.
They resemble those belonging to "Lucy", a 3.2 million-year-old skeleton of a human ancestor found in Ethiopia.
However, they do not resemble those of any other species found in Europe or Asia, raising questions about the "out of Africa" theory of human origins.

The climate in East Africa where many of these fossils were/are found is conducive to preservation of ancient remnants

Obviously that in Europe are not in the same league

I think people should take a step back from the OOAT and be not so dogmatic about where Mankind originated

Given the racist xenophobe that you are - it really must bug the crap out of you that your primate ancestors were black and from East Africa.

As for your latest attempt to re-write the story of the emergence of the human species - it would be better looking a some scientific material on this story that the claptrap published by the right-wing media.

Here is the most simplified version for you -

https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/10/ancient-teeth-found-germany-dont-rewrite-human-history-science/

And to quote
"But do these teeth, as many media outlets have proclaimed, 'rewriting human history' ? In a word - NO"

Homo Neanderthlis or perhaps even a previously undifferentiated species not Homo Sapiens apparently. Will watch with interest to see outcome.

A Brief History Of Everyone Who Ever Lived by Adam Rutherford is very clear on the facts here, contains good maps etc.

FFS, just because a new theory of human origins appears, that does not turn the old one into "Dogma". Especially not because you hate the fact that human ancestors began in Africa.

And this is NOT a new theory of human origins - the comparison is with "Lucy", the archetype of the species called Australipithecus Afarensis from Ethiopia. Australipithecus Afarensis was NOT human, but was probably a human ancestor. No human species existed beyond 1 million years ago.

This is find is 6 million years older, from Europe - it could be possible that the creature who owned the teeth was Lucy's ancestor, in which case it does not disprove "Out of Africa" at all. Lucy could still have been a human ancestor, and yer man in the paper was either misquoted, or is an ignorant gobshyte talking up a local discovery.

Catalplast tried to pull this trick before http://www.politics.ie/forum/history/256793-man-originated-europe-not-africa.html#post11192352

It suggests the OP is written more in a spirit of bigotry against anything African than in the spirit of scientific enquiry or discovery.

Our ancestors weren't 'Black' ya noodle - no more than they were 'White'

But you see Folks that's why I call this Theory (for that's what it is) - a Dogma

It has become so ingrained in impressionable minds that anyone who questions it risks been vilified....:?

Who gives a crap about the possible skin colour. I welcome any verified discovery that sheds more light on our origins.

Of course our African ancestors had dark skins.

Melanin, which gives the skin its pigment, is a defence against sunburn and skin cancer, so it conferred an evolutionary advantage to our ancestors. White skin is a mutation that arose after the move from Africa, and may be due to sexual selection - individuals with white skin had an advantage is getting mates - like the peacock's tail.

In that case all creatures in Africa would be Black.....

How Europeans evolved white skin

The work, presented .. at the 84th annual meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists, offers dramatic evidence of recent evolution in Europe and shows that most modern Europeans don’t look much like those of 8000 years ago.
