Glancing through the Phoenix magazine they are tipping PBP's John Lyons to get the Dail seat in next GE in the 5 seater of Dublin Bay North. They reckon Finian McGrath who got the last seat will be gone. That leaves John Lyons (8,476) and the LP's Aodhán Ó Ríordáin (10,329) to fight it out. It should be pointed out that the AAA's Michael O'Brien (2,562) also ran, whether he will next time as PBP and Solidarity/AAA are supposed to have cooperation next time.

In fairness to John Lyons I have met him a few times on protests for the anti water charges, Palestinians etc and he's a decent sort, a dedicated activist although I mightn't be a big fan of PBP. So those of you in the know, what's your opinion ?

I reckon the Phoenix is guessing based on their own notions of what's going on, while Finian is as cute as a ************************ house rat and has a huge chance of surviving as a pork barrel TD in a 5 seater.

His services will still be very saleable based on Dail arithmetic.

Wouldn't have any truck with professional 'activists' especially dedicated ones, especially the Palestian crowd,so won't be getting my vote Pee.

What does he do for a crust?

Does he get up early.

Has he anything positive at all about him even for a preference ?

He's a far left Trotskyite loon who supports mass immigration and the new Mega Mosque in Clongriffin.

Finian will not be forgiven for keeping FG in power, imo.

Besides protesting, what else would he do for his constituents ?

He won't get a bob from Palestine, but, if elected, becomes yet another state-subsidised protester.
This is a great country.
All the marching is very hard on the Sketchers, cricket.

You wouldnt begrudge a lad a decent pair of brogues a week.

Strong links between Santry and Palestine too I'm led to believe!!

As long as that wan.ker Amadain O'Riordain is kept out I really couldn't care otherwise. Labour are not going to be able to gift him a Seanad seat next time.

I wouldn't put it past AOR to jettison Labour if he thought he would have a better chance as an Indo.

have met John Lyons and the man is committed to supporting the working people of Ireland in reducing levels of inequality, economic disparity and advancing Social Justice issue both nationally and internationally.

trot is an overused term that serves to do nothing as I find that most people who use the term are not aware of what is actually means.

People before Profit is a Democratic Socialist Party influenced by the ideals of Leon Trotsky but you don't have to be a Trotskyite to become a member which may surprise some of this thread
