Just to mention. He is gone.

My sister is singing that song in our kitchen now, and shortly it will be streamed on Chromecast here.

Have to get the sister sorted first though. It is a song that stays in yer head whether you want it to or not.
His voice was a constant in my home due to my father inheriting a love of his music - leaving me with a life long love of the song 'Wichita Line Man'.

In his younger days I believe he was as wild as some of rocks greatest hell raisers as well, making his demise all the more saddening, I hope he was at peace at the end - RIP

'Though the wheat fields and the clothes lines

And the junkyards and the highways come between us...'

The man could write a line or two.

John Hartford wrote that one. And Jim Webb wrote many of the songs that Campbell was known for - Wichita Lineman, By the Time I get to Phoenix, Galveston...
Campbell was a great singer and guitar player. Not really a writer

Multi-talented doesn't begin to describe GC.
A great musician, a fabulous singer and a very good actor.

The recent movie "I'll be me" makes for poignant viewing.

R.I.P.

He had been ill in recent years. He withdrew from public appearances some years back after announcing that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimers.

Sadly, there had been some family squabbling through his illness.

He is free from all that now.

RIP

Isn't it funny how many people wait until a country singer is dead before confessing to liking them ?
