How many have built anything with their own hands rather than getting it fed to them............very few.

Media hyped individuals almost all.

Dustin the turkey inspires more hope than 95% of that list.

Interestingly no mention of Peter Matthews, David McWilliams, and the like.

Gene Kerrigan and Senator Shane Ross' choices seem the least un-mad - in fact sensible. Poor Brendan O'Connor appears to have run out of suggestions, and just started listing his Sindo co-workers and his ultimate boss.

The number of people in the list above who evade (or avoid) tax in Ireland is a little unsettling, but alas not surprising in the Sindo's list.

Who, pray tell, is Mary O'Robinson? And Eoghan Harris is jumping off the LE Fianna Fail and trying to brown-nose FG...

I have respect for some of those listed. Unfortunately, no longer, once u go on a sindo list, that's the end of it. My only disappointment is that great genuis, ian o'doherty wasn't asked his opinion, I am sure it would have been ground breaking!!

He writes for the Irish Independent, not the Sunday Independent.

I can't understand Eoghan Harris picking Mary McAleese. This was the woman he called a "tribal timebomb" in an article a few years ago..

then again this is the man who Dunphy memorably described as a "political rent boy"

The Sindo.

The Sindo...Another mouthpiece for Zanu-FF...Apart from Joe Higgins...Most of them are too well in it with current Irish establishment...They are about inspiring as Clowen's naked portrait...with the exception of Joe Higgins.

You can see most of them made a genuine effort to come up with a good list, but the overall effect is car-crash stuff.
Not mad or evil, just cringe-worthy.

There's a misprint in the opening post. The correct info is here:

Eoghan Harris

* Pearse Doherty
* Gerry Adams
* Maura Harrington
* Mary Lou McDonald
* Joe Higgins
* Tim Pat Coogan
* Vincent Browne
* Twink
