Neoliberalism, the idea that swallowed the world actually does exist, you know! And it hasn't gone away, you know!

Last summer, researchers at the International Monetary Fund settled a long and bitter debate over “neoliberalism”: they admitted it exists.

The great and the good finally admitting that Neo-Liberalism actually exists is a bit like, as happened, the guards denying for years that they conducted morning drunk driving checkpoints and then hocus pocus owning up that they do in fact carry them out! Except of course, the guards in that case were doing the right thing in the first place.

Good aul neo-liberals, who have looked at the world and come to the conclusion that the only way to continue the insatiable greed and mantra of the everlasting at least 4% return on investment is to gouge to the last, every drop, they can from regular folk and transfer as far as possible the taxation burden from those who can well afford to pay for it to everyone else, including those who can't!
And of course grab all natural resources they can!

It would definitely make you wonder why the ordinary plebs voted for Brexit and why people here didn't lie down and immediately acquiesce to the notion that with the H2O tax, a working class family would have to take a child aside and warn them about how often they flush the toilet! Water is of course more essential than even food or electricity!

And what's austerity about? It's literally the closest thing, a Government in the Western World can realistically come to committing an act of mass extermination against its own population! Unfortunately for them, the notion of packing people onto cattle trucks and forcing them into extermination camps isn't viable any more!

The notion that these scum can retire early on vast pensions paid for on everybody else's backs. when the rest of us are forced to go on to 70 plus is beyond obscene and of course many regular folk will be lost long before that due primarily to the stress and their reaction to the stress of their lives!

The knobs behind it seemed to have seen the term as just abuse of them by the commoners!

Which group do you think would let you pay for sex, with impunity?

(Urko frantically searches the internet for address of the nearest branch of a neo liberal party.)

People who support the rights of consenting adults to have sex with each other in private come from all sorts of backgrounds, including The UN, WHO and Amnesty International and genuine feminists like Claire Daly T.D. and PBP!

Considering the fact that most of the western world adopted neo-liberal policies it is more than a meaningless term.
The more egalitarian and affluent a society becomes, the more likely they are to champion the rights of individuals, natural progression if you ask me, but if you want to dress it up with a sexy "neo" and blame it for all your woes , then have at it.

So, are these neo-liberals the same crowd as the 'globalists' constantly derided by the likes of the DT and Breitbart?
That depends on whether or not you would regard yourself as neo-liberal, if not then you can blame them for whatever you like, such is the state of political discourse at the moment.

I don't recall blaming anything for my woes. First part of your post is nonsense. Neoliberalism is a well defined economic theory, just because you don't know what it is doesn't make it a "meaningless term".

Fair enough, I'll shut up now so.
I assumed, wrongly, that it was a meaningless prefix like "new" Atheism.
