Oireachtas members referred to DPP over donation records

THREE OIREACHTAS members have been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for failing to disclose documentation on 2009 donations to the Standards in Public Office Commission.

....
Ten members were contacted by the commission when they had not returned the required information by the January 31st deadline. Seven then submitted the relevant documentation, while the outstanding three have been referred to the DPP.

Reading the responses from the parties, I'd be betting that the 3 come from FG and FF

As off 9 this morning a lot of FG TD's have not been contacted yet by HQ to see if any of them are involved. You will note there is no mention of Sinn Fein responses either ;)

Shinners are all on the average industrial wage, so ya can rule them out.

No as the file is gone to the DPP... if the DPP takes no action, then SIPO should publish

They are political donations nothing to do with wages !! Unless the money is being kept and not declared.

All the shinner money goes into the party.
Doesn't necessarily mean it has been adequately declared, however.

In reality we have no idea who the 3 are and will have to wait until we find out.

Don't get too excited that three corrupt politicians are about to be exposed.

The most likely explanation is that these three are just not the best at sending in forms by the due date which is something that afflicts a lot of the population. The deadline was Jan 31st and it's March 2nd now.

Think about it, returning forms late draws attention to you so if you have something to hide its surely better to file a creative form on time?

My limited experiences with SIPO suggests they only file documents - they don't look at them in any analytical way.

Lowry really should have been FF, look how he supports them now. And was a GAA to core.

We will know one way or the other. They cannot publish the names until such time as the DPP decides whether to lay charges or not. If he does then they are named when charged of course, if not they will be named by SIPO when they publish the 2009 donations on their website.

Either way they will be named.

I bet 2 are FF, 1 FG. FF always tempt someone else on board in the interest of balance and to smear all. The their people can say there're all the same
