The DUP seriously need to grasp the implications of Arelne Foster pìssing off Leo Varadkar, the most West Brit Prime Minister ever to head an Eire administration.

Such megaphone diplomacy greatly hinders the efforts of more persuasive voices like Sir Jeffrey and Nigel Dodds to communicate the Unionist message in receptive areas south of the border.

DUP pissing of Varadkar? More like him poking his nose in where it does not belong, and trying to dictate were the UK border is.

Actually, I'd prefer Arlene to Dodds and the dodgy knight. None of them are going to persuade anyone south of the border of anything anyway, to be honest. We have enough Unionist voices yapping at us day and night through our own media, the DUP just sound like more of the same regardless of who leads them. Edwin Poots is about the only one who stands out as seeming in any way human.

The fact is that the ROI probably has less say in brexit talks than the DUP, DUP is in Government of an Economy that dwarfs Ireland in importance in Brussels. Varadkar is a small fish and so are you.. zoo

"Looking ahead to the next round of talks in the last week of August, he set out the main areas where he wants more detail from the U.K.:

How European nationals living in the U.K. will be protected after Brexit, insisting that the European Court of Justice should have jurisdiction.
A detailed legal analysis of what Britain will pay to leave.
How to maintain the current border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland."

The DUP is not in government anywhere. And this mine is bigger than yours schtick that PULs keep trotting out is both immature and obsolete. Grow up and realise that the Conservative government in Britain will protect the City of London's financial industry and a few other vested interests like the auto industry, and that's it. You and your loyal brethren are very far down their list of priorities.

Poking his nose in?! Brexit has massive implications on Ireland, being one of the Brit's biggest reading partners.
The fact is that the British Govt put a brexit poll to the people without giving a second thought to her 'citizens' in the 6 counties.
They fùcking forgot about NI! Just goes to show how important it is to them

I dont know how varadkar could gain anything by calling the dup impotent, its mind boggling.

irish gdp= 294.1 billion USD (2016)

uk gdp = 2.619 trillion USD (2016)

Ireland is a mere pawn to the EU.

If the border is not in the Irish sea how do you suggest one stops smuggling?
The EU may not allow a free passage between it and the UK, has Varadkar checked with them?
When SFIRA tried to get special status for Northern Ireland they were heavily defeated 374 votes to 66, SFIRA said the "outcome was disappointing"

Whatever, varadkar is off his head. The DUP can bring down the whole government which will change the whole dynamic of brexit. what can varadkar do exactly? He has to negotiate something favorable to Ireland, hes a small fish. His hand will be forced because he hasnt much to offer and plenty to lose.

Mustering and blustering, hes under intense pressure. A massive trading block of which you are a member and your biggest trading partner, Ireland has a lot to lose if it doesnt play its cards right.
