Time to bring our Navy home from the Mediterranean.

Its time to bring our Navy Boys home from the Mediterranean Cruises. There are plenty of ships in the Mediterranean to rescue anyone who needs rescuing.

Modern technology allows anyone with a smart phone to determine the position speed and course of every ship afloat.

A Rescue Ship is as easy to catch as a Bus in Dublin or London.

The savings could be used to save many more lives in our hard pressed hospitals. They could be redeployed guarding our own Borders which are wide open to anyone with a fast boat who wishes to deposit Migrants on our Shore.

If the UK is challenged to seal its frontiers then we too can expect to have problems.

Migrant smuggling gangs are becoming more 'professional' and posing a bigger threat to Britain's borders, Europol chief warns

Our navy is nothing more than a floating taxi service for illegal migrants and it's that floating taxi service in the Med that is aiding and abetting people traffickers. So long as the Irish navy are engaged in this they will have blood on their hands. I'm sick of images of the Irish navy taking illegal migrants off of safe boats onto naval ships being described as ''rescues'', they aren't rescuing them they're ferrying them in the wrong direction. The navy should be ferrying these illegals back to where they came from.

I'm more than happy for my tax to be used in supporting our navy in these pursuits.

A UN report has stated that migrants deliberately sabotage their boats in the presence of foreign Navies.
The UN claims the smugglers are taking advantage of maritime law loopholes, that means the country that rescues migrants at sea are resonsible for those they rescue.
Therefore, the presence of foreign navies actually increases the number of boat sinkings and ergo more deaths.
Glad you are happy.

We need to seal our own borders to prevent Migrants being smuggled into Ireland.

What, by sticking naval vessels in Cavan hedges?

Your objection is that we are stepping up as a nation, using our resources for good, and saving over 10,000 people from drowning - you know, the whole Christianity thing that the Constitution mentions - and not because they are coming here, because they're not under EU law, but because, tsk, they're tanned. Can't rescue tanned people fleeing chaos, war and bloodshed, can you? Oh, and BTW, Rob Wainwright went through Farage and his vile ilk for a shortcut because he has no issues at all with Operation Triton or Operation Poseidon, and made that clear (he's a schoolmate of a rugby friend); that article mentions neither, showing just how mendacious you are.

So, to put ger12's point slightly more trenchantly: I'm intensely proud that we are doing this, as are the Naval Service themselves, and intensely proud that we as a nation have a Naval Service doing so much good that they can outweigh nasty little creatures like you in the scales of decency.

Now jog on.

Nothing to do with Cavan Hedges. We need to stop migrants being smuggled into Ireland by Sea. We have a huge Coastline and it is wide open.

How many Migrants would you allow in?

Allah will watch over the Migrants in the Med and protect them if it is his will.

Yeah, because, you know, people come straight from Libya to Listowel.

Get to ************************ away with yourself. There is not a single recorded case of anyone coming in by sea.

And how many? Anyone entitled to asylum is entitled to asylum. That's the law. We obey the law, because, unlike you, this State is not bigoted against those with a bit more pigment in their skin.

None have been caught yet. Not much drugs get intercepted either so it does not mean drugs are not smuggled through Ireland.

You're proud?
Even though the policy has led to an increase in deaths in the Med?
If you want to say lives in the Med copy the Australian solution.

Link for that loophole claim?
http://www.unodc.org/documents/human-trafficking/Migrant-Smuggling/Issue-Papers/Issue_Paper_-_Smuggling_of_Migrants_by_Sea.pdf

2.3.5
Paragraph marked "Seeking detection"

"A frequently reported modus operandi is for smugglers or migrants to force a rescue by scuttling a boat. Dinghies are punctured so authorities are forced to assume responsibility of those in the water. Wooden boats are set on fire.....there have been cases of persons on board threatening to throw babies overboard.....Smugglers are generally well informed of a States protection obligation and act to exploit them"

Thats an official UN report by the way.
The solution to that problem above is to make it clear that if you come illegally your claim will not be processed.

Nor are the great majority of the citizens. However there is some concern for those who might have a bit of murder in their hearts.
