This convention is a waste of time due to its limited scope.

I hope I find the bar of choc with one of those golden tickets inside!

But I'd rather like it if they put it on the web so we can all get a look in.

I'd prefer if they'd picked Roseanne Barr. At least she would have shaken things up.

Tool of the establishment.

Never mind the whole thing is a sham and a waste of our money.

When I saw the thread title I initially had him confused with unionist mouthpiece Bruce Arnold. Wouldn't have surprised me in fairness.

I'm intrigued about all the negativity here. Who would the nay-sayers have appointed instead?

A decent and honourable man indeed.

But as chairman of the Irish Times his selection just re-inforces the sense that this is a governmetn of D4 liberals by D4 liberals for D4 liberals.

Diarmuid Ferriter would've been my choice.
As CE of Concern, Arnold had no business getting involved in the Lisbon Referendum. He gambled charitable donations for his moment in the spotlight - a thoroughly selfish act, I thought.

Has anyone publicly admitted to having turned down an approach/request to be the chair?
