TONIGHT with Vincent Browne, Mon 3 to Thurs 6 July 2017 @ 11pm

A current affairs programme from an alternative perspective, focusing on issues of income and inequality,
as well as seeking to hold institutions and powerful people to account.

You can forget about that nonsense you may have read about no more Vinny … He’s here tonight, that’s the main thing, and, as always, he has fantastic shows lined up for this week and the weeks ahead.

OMG. I even said that with a straight face.

Anyway, they haven’t agreed my redundancy payment, so whoever set that thread up, should be banned from this thread, and all future Vinny threads. Talking about Et tu Brute ...:

If they're going to cut income tax, then they'll have to cut services, won't they? It remains to be seen which services.

Of course they may be just extra sneaky and raise VAT on certain items. Are they going to reduce the USC?

They want to get rid of the USC and impose water charges instead (They heaven't given up, you know). The cup and ball men.

It's a dodgy time to be an FFer....Varadker is hacking into their support with proposing tax cuts while SF and the rest of the left are starting a new campaign over bin charges which will put FF at odds with their middle class support if they go full hog and join in ....

The ould fence is starting to wobble....:D

Will people say "income tax" when they mean "income tax".

Justine McCarthy roasted by VB also. Doing the Devil's Advocate well.

Maybe all parties should take a leaf out of Macron's book, and not increase the number of TDs to 150, but CUT the number down to 100 or below. One TD per 40,000 would be sufficient ... maybe even 50,000 ...

Come on, TDs, show us all the way ... we're waiting ...

Varadakar thinks that deprivation should not deter anyone from becoming rich. Says a man who never had to deal with this situation.

Leo does not have to appear on the show. Vinnie playing devil's advocate

Varadakar is frighteningly like Donald Trump: a millionaire preaching to the poor.

Brown (Peter) talking about people who simply go to college for the sake of going to college, rather than training for some career. He's only taking about his own class, of course, a fatal mistake for anyone to make.

Brown is right in his basic point about the disaffected students who don't know why they're in College...High drop out rate...Going to college because they don't know what they want to do...Lack of apprenticeships, etc..

Vinnie off on another rant about double jobbing lecturers..

He's actually a good bloke. Comes from a very ordinary background and worked hard to get where he has.
