Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern has condemned the rioting by a number of Shamrock Rovers fans at last night's league match against Dundalk in Oriel Park.

The Minister, who was among the home supporters in the grounds, has called for the culprits to be identified and banned for life from attending soccer matches.

These gougers were just trying their best to get the match abandoned, of course they should be banned for life.

Nope. Just Hoop scum. Don't have the same prob with Pat's, Bohs, UCD or Sprouting Fungus - though only 2 of those mentioned actually have supporters, and it's not the last 2.

Alright Girls, lets not get hysterical here ....

A couple of things get thrown onto the pitch like happens at many games.

The Gardai overreact and lay around them with batons.

Hardly a riot. Or anything like one.

The hooligans, Knackers, and scum at the game were probably wearing blue and not green and white.

Hoops are the Pride of Ireland.

You know that ....

over 600 rovers fans showed up last night. No other club brings that many so obviously Rovers have more scum following it than the rest - which means there's always a critical mass for the nonsense we saw last night. If there's 40 away fans and 2 knackers, they're not gonna kick off. 30 out of 600 though is a bit different which is what seems to have taken place in Oriel park. I wasn't there but maybe the SR will fill us in on any details if he was./

I have rarely if ever seen an item thrown onto a soccer pitch in any game I've been to. Less so directly at stewards and guards. It was an unsavoury incident which could've been worse - especially for that steward that was nearly hit by the wood...

The Gardai overreact and lay around them with batons.
Ah there was shag all of that either. The lads in the Rovers end seemed to have pushed a barrier/fence open and the Guards just pushed em back. And they drew batons when bottles and an umbrella were fcked over the fence

Hardly a riot. Or anything like one.
Agreed

Not a single one seen on the TV or in the media today wore any Green and White.

You know that ....
As will be proven in Europe this summer!!!!

??? Celtic fans are renowned for their good behaviour.
Not on here they're not. On here all Celtic fans are represented by the Love Ulster rioters and the protester at Croker. Like the way the boyos last night represent all domestic soccer fans.

The biggest scumbag is the guy named in the OP, as negative an influence as Voldermort at a Quidditch game.

So no riot and a storm in a teacup.

Has the Minister for Justice not got bigger fish to fry than putting his spoke in regarding some piddly incident at a soccer match.

You'd think he was on top of the serious crime situation in the country.

Are they? Can't say I've ever heard that but they are also reknowned for their scumbag following. That is to say the amount of scumbags who are supporters rather than the fact that Celtic supporters are scumbags.

The scumbag element is common to all soccer clubs. It is part of the games heritage at this stage.

You must have missed both UEFA and FIFA declaring that Celtic had the best fans in the world so... though it's a given that many Irish scumbags wear the Celtic jersey as a type of uniform (as they do Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal jerseys etc... but this is never pointed out).
