No movement on this thread? A lot of noise about tariffs today. Blue collar America are getting the restructuring they were looking for. I wonder if the clamour about the hookers will knock it on the head. The results from the midterms will determine a lot.

Can you show how the wages of the American worker has improved since the Trump Presidency? (They havn't).

If you look at the facts, inequality is growing & the wealthy class is grasping the benefits of the improving economy.

For the workers, its "Hold onto your crappy job & shut the f*ck up. And, by the way, pay for your own healthcare."

You're just believing the lies of the Lie-Meister. No, the ordinary worker are not benefiting by his policies, but the billionaire property and investors definitely are. Americans might wake up and kick this embarrassment out of the office that he is dishonouring.

Trump is proving to be a realist in foreign affairs. You may be being caught up a bit by his rhetoric rather than his actions and that's what you should be looking at.

Yemen is a holdover from the previous administration. A new Saudi regime sees it as a way to demonstrate its influence in the region by propping up a vassal.
Only half-true.

Trump started by going to RSA as his first foreign visit and agreeing a $110 billion deal in military equipment that Obama had stalled.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/20/us-saudi-arabia-seal-weapons-deal-worth-nearly-110-billion-as-trump-begins-visit.html

Any chance of controlling Saudi brutality in Yemen went out the window - an American bomb recently killed about 30 children on a school outing. Saudi has even allied itself with Al Qaeda.

The vicious thug bin Salman has embarked on a course that is contrary to the US interests (e.g. with Qatar) but the Trump Administration is compliant because the Qataris were mean to Jared.

There has been a bull market for 9 years - any period of months or years when stocks consistently rise at least 15 percent.

(9 years? Wasn't the black guy President back then?)

  • Wage growth remains anemic
  • there's still a very big hole in labor market participation that demographics alone can't explain.
  • Business investment in the real economy is way down,
  • rates of productivity growth are underwhelming,
  • inequality is soaring.

A lot of reporting has linked the recent GOP tax cut to the stock market's spectacular gains, but that gives the game away: The tax cut hasn't created any discernible boost for jobs and wages. It just handed corporations a bunch of money they could classify as profits and promptly spit out to shareholders.

It has been a long business cycle (Thanks, Obama!), but it always turns - when you hear Trumpanistas say "This time it is different", put your money into cash or far away from high-risk investments that promise big returns. Things are going to go pear-shaped sooner or later.

This stock market run is total bull

Didn't Trump open eight businesses in the Kingdom of Saud during the election?

And now we're seeing the dirty tricks campaign starting - a county in Randolph county in Georgia the local board of elections are now attempting to close down 7 of the 9 electoral polling places. That would mean of course that many of the voters (predominantly Black ) would be hindered from voting. A federal judge in Georgia( I wonder who appointed him_ has sentenced a woman to 5 years in prison for leaking classified (?) information to the press. Her name is Reality Winner ( an unusual name ) and she blogged her disgust at Trump's election and her disappointment of his behaviour. Is the USA turning into Turkey now?

Don't know about that, but the Saudis definitely opened a business in the White House.

Trump says Mexico trade deal near; NAFTA hurdles seen easing

So after all the bullshytting and gasbagging by Trump it just comes down to a few tweaks to save his face .... at the cost of severe damage to relations with the US' neighbours, and Mexico will still not pay for Trump's stupid wall.

Ah that is nice. Trump always said he wants fair trade, not no trade. As a Cavan farmer with cows, I have to do deals with all sorts of people. Some are dubious characters. I have to hammer out deals and re-negotiate deals and there is always a bit of aggravated jumping about in which I insult them and they insult me. We insult each other's parents, grand parents and history. Then finally the difference is divided and subdivided until the price is settled. Then everything changes, all is forgotten and if its a big trade, there are drinks. The lefties are too think to understand that that is how the world works.

Ordinary people do this when buying houses or cars.

[h=1]Trump calls off Pompeo North Korea trip, blasts China[/h]
All not well - or the orange moron trying to cause a distraction from his criminal troubles?
North Korea s a hard nut tpo crack and there will have to be maneuverings. Remember Kim is a commie leftie loon who does not have to promise greenism of liberalism to gain power. You are all that with a promise of grnnism and liberalism to hide your Kim traits.

So the news cycle in the States is now between a successfully restructured trade arrangement and a peeping tom story.
