Thats a big difference? LOL
Yes, Eistein, it is a huge difference.

If you cannot see the difference in character between not serving and being respectful of those that do, & not serving and ridiculing those taken prisoner & tortured then you have to be quite dim, don't you brains.

Judge Reed O'Connor has struck down the anti gender discrimination provisions of Obamacare today, on religious freedom grounds.
To be precise--especially since he has already declared Obamacare itself unconstitutional---this is what he actually further did:

Judge Reed O’Connor in the Northern District of Texas vacated an Obama-era regulation that prohibited providers and insurers who receive federal money from denying treatment or coverage to anyone based on sex, gender identity or termination of pregnancy. . . . O’Connor, who is the same judge who last year ruled the entire Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional, said the rule violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. . . . President Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services initially defended the rule, but the Trump administration decided to drop its defense, . . .

As should be self-evident already, O'Connor in north Texas is a known 'God, Guns and Gays' favourite 'forum shopping' choice of right wing activists and politicians seeking right wing results.

Fair play to Trump admin for recalling US ambassador to Zambia over its jailing of a gay couple.

Hmmm the Zambian story is starting to look less clear now.

It's not so clear why he was recalled. Is it that the Trump admin were admonishing Zambia? Or was it that it was trying to shut him up? The latter sounded to me to be ex Clinton admin spokesman Joe Lockharts view on CNN, when he said the ambassador was recalled for 'supporting American values'

President Lungu wanted him out so for making those comments so they did so. Why would you have presumed otherwise anyway? For starters, Trump's Religious Right base has made persecuting LGBTs a 'moral imperative' in Africa, e.g.,
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, a hard-right Christian group that is active in US politics as well, similarly supported antigay laws in Uganda. At the peak of the controversy over the “kill the gays” bill, Perkins praised the Ugandan president for “leading his nation to repentance.”

The Roman Catholic Church being the largest church, American Evangelical Religious Right--with its roots and style from Ulster--have been evangelising there for years just like in Latin America. Anti-LGBT Pat Robertson’s “700 Club” show was a even a huge success in Zambia in the 1990s. By 2000, Zambia was at least 30% Evangelicals and Pentecostals/Charismatics and has since had several 'born again' Christians as President.

Trump has packed his Admin with Religious Right gay haters, e.g., Pompeo, an Evangelical Presbyterian, and Mick Mulvaney, a McQuaidian Roman Catholic like William Barr:
Pompeo is no friend to LGBTQ rights. He opposed the repeal of the anti-gay military ban known as “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” he called the U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing marriage equality “a shocking abuse of power” that “flies in the face of centuries of shared understanding of our Constitution,” he introduced legislation to give religious people a “license to discriminate,” he opposed reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act due to language expanding the law to cover LGBTQ people and he canceled a planned speech at the CIA about diversity and LGBTQ rights.
In August 2018, Pompeo led a U.S. Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom “to combat religious persecution and discrimination” in which Mick Mulvaney, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, said that America will no longer pressure African nations to repeal their anti-LGBTQ laws, specifically ones in which imprison and kill queer people, because such laws are an example of “religious freedom.”

As Mulvaney made clear, African nations needn’t worry about LGBTQ rights issues under the Trump administration. President Obama had personally pressured African nations to protect their LGBTQ citizens, using money as a stick. The financial penalties are now gone, so countries can do as they wish. Countries with a history of LGBTQ oppression were quick to jump on the change in policy. Media in Kenya declared that the Trump administration “agress with President Kenyatta’s view on gay rights.” Kenyatta has declared that LGBTQ rights are “of no importance in Kenya.”

These people will turn on your community if Trump gets a second term.
It shows Trump is needed, since if he is removed from office Pence takes over. Trump is a moderating force on LGBT issues.

Trump selected the thuggish bigot Pence as his VP - he would not have done so if he was not a thuggish bigot himself.

And it was Trump who appointed other thuggish judges and officials to his Administration.

What is needed is for both Trump and Pence to get the boot.

No he's not. He doesn't care much about LGBT issues either way, is all. And he certainly doesn't care enough about them to "moderate" Pence - he chose Pence as VP precisely to give himself some credibility with his target market of voters who do care about LGBT, namely religious fundamentalists.

(The idea that the president would need to "moderate" his own subordinate is quite amusing really - do you imagine that Pence goes off on rogue missions? And can you give us any historical examples where the VP had his own personal policies that the POTUS could only "moderate"?)

Are you sure about that? In my experience for all their faults North American Presbyterians tend to be "Jew wise", even the "liberal" to "ultra-liberal" depending who you ask (certainly the PCI here is significantly more "conservative" than them) PCUSA get labelled as being "anti-Semitic" all the time by Jewish supremacists in the USA, while as Pompeo totally acts the blubbering Baptist or Pop-Evangelical when it comes to Jewish supremacists not just in occupied Palestine but also in North America.

Virginia, now a Blue State in its Legislature, has passed a law that added sexual orientation and gender identity to the list of protected classes in areas like housing, employment, and public accommodation.

The Governor supports it, and will sign it into law.

Virginia is a Southern State, the only State (other than Purple Florida) of the former Confederacy that has passed such a bill, Indeed, Mississippi and North Carolina passed bills allowing discrimination against gays in employment, and barred trans people from using the public bathrooms of their choice.

It will be interesting to see how these bills (and the 20 others passed in other states) clash with Trump's and Pence's bigoted "religious freedom" agenda.

Three female athletes are suing Connecticut Association of Schools-Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, for denying them their right under title nine to compete with others of their sex, its going to be interesting because neither group can legally be discriminated against.

Indeed Pence was picked because Trump worried that he might not do well with the Evangelical vote because of his public degeneracy in the past however what does actually Pence have a problem with homoseuality? Simon Harris and Leo Little Girls' Socks both claimed to be against abortion on demand and Leo said that he was opposed to homosexualist marriage in the past- do you really believe they were being honest? Leaving aside "T" question, when it comes to the LGB things Trump has shown that he indeed does care, that in cares in a militant fashion in support of homosexuality (more so than Obama did). Arguably he has been the most "gay friendly" US President in history.

The meme that the authoritarian leader is "really" sympathetic towards his victims, and tries to restrain the evils of his more bigoted followers, is common in such societies. It acts as a lighting rod for the Leader so that he can have a convenient scapegoat if any campaign of repression gets out of hand.

Note that the flagship pro-gay action of the Trump Administration take place outside America, and are cosmetic for any gays living in the USA.
