Wilbur Ross has a reputation as a canny investor - often in distressed assets - he now looks likely to be Trump's Commerce Secretary

Post Politics : Trump expected to tap billionaire investor Wilbur Ross for commerce secretary

As well as these small deals

Wilbur Ross sells €477m Bank of Ireland stake

Wilbur Ross junks Irish property bubble claim with

He was in the running for much larger plays, and spent time in Dublin, meeting many people - I'm never too clear on just who scuppered those deals, at the least, there was not political appetite

Given Trump's opposition to Free Trade - how will Mr Ross sit - and what operational use might his Irish links be ? I am concerned that during his time looking at property and banks ... he met some of our more sordid characters ...

It would suggest he is at least approaching competent people.
However, he's more a financier than an industrialist.

I wonder if he's one of the investors who squeezed the pips on Herr Drumpf's casino missadventures?

The 2 of them can laugh at our elite & take turns at reminiscing at being kow towed to by Noonan.

"Gee Wilbur I screwed him better than you"
"Do you think him and that woman Edna who he directs will turn over the keys to the country in exchange for a signed picture from Tom Cruise? "
