I just came across this when looking at the BBC site and it just goes to prove that the Islamification of Turkish society under the current government continues. The Turkish government has passed legislation banning alcohol sales between 22.00hrs to 06.00am awaiting to be formally passed by the Turkish president a close ally of the government. How long is it before further reactionary policies are implemented by Turkeys Islamist government?

What impact will this legislation have on Turkey's tourist trade?

Eh, don't we restrict the sale of alcohol in shops between 10pm and 10am? (The law had no effect on bars or restaurants).

The EU needs Turkey's energy, access to its market, workforce. Try harder next time.

We have quite restrictive alcohol sales laws.
Not when it comes to the sale of alcohol in pubs and nighclubs at weekends. My point as regards this thread is that Turkey has an Islamist government, I personally think they will try to ban alcohol outright along with other Islamist policies been implemented.

So ya can't buy beer after 10pm?

Unlike say a civilised society where feral kids get off their heads on cheap lager and jam up hospitals/Garda stations and pester law abiding citizens? Where idiots waste their money on flavoured water resulting in street violence and domestic chaos?

Well done Turkey! Pity we won't follow the same plan. Decide for yourself which is the civilised country.

So you've no problem with the Turkish government imposing Islamist doctrine on the vast majority of Turks who are responsible when it comes to drinking alcohol.

In this case none whatever. We would benefit hugely from doing the same thing.
